Some folks reference the talking about swords and defense in the Bible. As to gun use, I think turning the other cheek may apply -- that is, instead of shooting someone who robs you or setting a spring gun; let him or her live. A life is more important than money.
As to gun rights, I don't see a religious connection.
Ciara Lee, 20, was killed after officials said she pointed a gun at a Houston Police Department officer around 1:45 a.m. in the parking lot of a southwest Houston apartment complex.
"The officer gave verbal commands for her to drop the weapon. She turned toward the officer, pointing the weapon at him," said John Cannon, a Houston police spokesman.
I looks to me like the Houston police officer gave her the opportunity to postpone meeting the Prince of Peace.

You told me to read the regs in the other thread.... I'm curious as to whether you read the articles I cited.
The perp killed in the officer involved incident pointed her gun at the officer.
The illegal aliens robbing the jewelry store were in the process of tying the owners up in a back room... something that typically precedes an execution. The officer and the store owner were CLEARLY acting in self defense. Hard to turn the other cheek when you're dead, and I really don't believe that Jesus meant for us to turn the other cheek when we are in fear of imminent death at the hands of a criminal.
And, I have to disagree with you. An armed robber's life isn't worth a penny.
This has got me thinking... since Texas is run by Christians, they should probably take guns away from the police. Clearly, police should not protect people, since it is an anti-Christian practice, and Texas, you know, is run by Christians.
