Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Obama tells lawmakers not passing tax deal could end presidency

So, its not about doing the right thing, its all about power.

I don't understand the problem. Seems to me a government shut of say a month or so would wonders for our national debt. ooops thats right, the dems would just pay the employees anyway for sitting at home. After all, whats the difference if they get paid for sitting on their butts at work or at home.

HEY, WILL PA:

Still waiting for you to explain how these Bush tax cuts, which you said benefit ONLY THE RICH, could be so good that Pres Obama would be "agressively selling the deal."

Quote:
The White House has been aggressively selling the deal, which includes a two-year extension of all the expiring Bush tax cuts in exchange for a 13-month extension of unemployment benefits...
I'm confused, Will, can you help me understand?

Also please explain how not changing anything (leaving the tax codes alone) is equal to deficit spending??? That's some fancy logic being put forth right now, don't you think?

What? There are $3 TRILLION in cuts for the lower and middle classes? Bah.... that's not important. Bush was ONLY cutting taxes for the Richest 10%.[/Left Wing Pinhead]

Democrat = [Well... can't say it. Probably would be a rule violation...]

To presume that a tax cut is equivalent to deficit spending, one must be of the opinion that all wealth, all the fruit of any toil and labor, is the property of the government.

That is a perfect example of 'if, then' thinking. It allows latitude for the most bizarre conclusions.

Being relatively new to this country, I find American politics the same as politics everywhere. It is all about power and never about the people. Its fanfare to a base group with the attempt to win over enough in the middle to achieve power. People will be hostile towards whichever ideology they do not follow.
