Goes right along with giving unions exemptions from the "healthcare" debacle, when they helped push it through.

Sounds like something that everyone should be mad about. Unless you don't breath air, drink water or eat anything from the soil.

The crime was the money doled out not any of the waivers

Oh, absolutely. But then again you've swallowed hook, line and sinker all the left's environmental BS. Like there is something really wrong with using something and putting it into a landfill. Oh no, spawned out of a barge that had no certification as to having hazardous waste on board. Now we're forever stuck with wasteful recycling programs. Programs I might add that in NYC, homeowners separate, the city picks up in two vehicles, yet it all ends up in the same place. To coal fired electricity plants, which we're told trout streams are now dead in WVU because of them yet there's a thriving outfitter business for trout fishing. FYI, I'm not talking stocked one day and fished the next. Actually real native trout. So we are left to believe, acid ray. Clouds have gone high tech and only target certain streams. FYI, coal fired electricity plants and heating use to be all over Chicago back in the late 1800s. We've come along way since then yet take more grieve. Despite people living longer. I don't get it other than it's a great money income producer for those who need a job.

Property owners have every reason to be worried. The Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) is a pet project of green radicals, who want the decades-old government slush fund for buying up private lands to be freed from congressional appropriations oversight.
It's paid for primarily with receipts from the government's offshore oil and gas leases. Both Senate and House Democrats have included $900 million in full LWCF funding, not subject to congressional approval, in their energy/BP oil-spill legislative packages.
This power grab, masquerading as a feel-good, all-American recreation program, comes on top of a separate, property-usurping initiative exposed by GOP Rep. Robert Bishop and Sen. Jim DeMint earlier this spring. According to an internal, 21-page Obama administration memo, 17 energy-rich areas in 11 states have been targeted as potential federal "monuments." The lives of coyotes, deer and prairie dogs would be elevated above states' needs to generate jobs, tourism business and energy solutions.

Obama Plans 10 Million Acre Land Grab
Posted on March 5, 2010

As I have warned in previous posts the agenda to “fundamentally transform America” is following the Cloward/Piven handbook of community organizing. While the attention of the nation is focused on the health care debate, the administration has multiple agenda items moving full speed ahead and going relatively unnoticed. Their strategy is an elaborate shell game designed to keep us off balance and unable to keep up with the all changes in motion at any given time.
Their plan to grab over 10 million acres of land is an excellent example of one such item. At a time when the administration has promised to help create jobs and put Americans back to work the land grab they are secretly considering could actually put more people out of work. Recently a Department of the Interior memo surfaced revealing plans for the federal government to seize more than 10 million acres from Montana to New Mexico. The plan will increase federal control over energy-rich land in the West. The effects of this land grab includes killing jobs in forestry, mining and energy. The collateral damage is the tax revenue these industries generate.
The land grab also circumvents states right’s. By using the 1906 Antiquities Act, Obama can stop all development of the land and limit its’ use by humans.

Makes im feel good- like there doing something like saving the world/ planet & bunnys from melting to.

That duke energy in the original story i have seen here( they been busy).

They( and others) will be making much more money, including taxpayer fundings as they are now , utility rates will go up( maybe even sky rocket as the great lip flapper obamy said even) for all , but i kinda doubt it will make much of a difference in how much coal etc we ship out of here.( or in the global warming/scam the ppl programs)

They where building them windfarms anyways before o mama came along- but im sure they will take any money they can get( to bad the public has to pay even more for it all)

The Top of the World wind farm includes 66 GE turbines and 44 Siemens turbines

Duke Energy has completed its fourth and largest wind farm in Wyoming, a 200 megawatt facility near Casper, in Converse County. The Top of the World wind farm comprises 110 wind turbines, capable of generating enough power to supply about 60,000 homes.
German manufacturer Siemens supplied 44 of the machines, while 66 were supplied by US manufacturer GE.
The facility is now supplying electricity to Oregon-based utility PacifiCorp, through a 20-year power purchase agreement.

In Wyoming, Duke Energy’s other wind projects include the 99-MW Campbell Hill Windpower Project, which came online in Converse County in 2009, the 42MW Silver Sage Windpower Project, which came online in 2009 near Cheyenne, and the 29MW Happy Jack Windpower Project, which came online in 2008 also near Cheyenne.

.................................................. ...

We can mine a lot a coal with not a lot of ppl - i think powder river will be rolling those long long trains of coal out of there for a long time to come.

......................

It is the single largest source of coal mined in the United States, and contains one of the largest deposits of coal in the world. Most of the active coal mining in the Powder River Basin actually takes place in drainages of the Cheyenne River. Because of the Powder River Basin, Wyoming has been the top coal-producing state in the United States since 1988. In 2007, the Powder River Basin alone produced 436 million short tons (396 million tonnes) of coal, more than twice the production of second-place West Virginia, and more than the entire Appalachian region. The Black Thunder Coal Mine is the most productive coal mine in the United States; in 2006 this single mine produced 84 million metric tons of coal, The region is also a major producer of natural gas through a process called coal-bed methane extraction. Underground coal seams are dewatered through pumping, which reduces pressure and releases trapped gases up to the well head.
