Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default charlie wrangle

I've only caught bits and pieces of the story this a.m., so correct me if I'm wrong here.

What I've seen indicates a few things:

1. He "can't afford" his high-caliber lawyers anymore, so he had to fire them.

2. Although he's a lawyer himself, he isn't comfortable representing himself, so he fired himself as his lawyer.

3. Since he can't afford the absolute very best lawyers, he "excused himself" from the hearings (can he legally do that?????). If I am accused of a crime, and can't afford a lawyer, I get one appointed to me--so what's the deal here?

4. He was the one who called for the ethics investigation to begin with, to clear his "good name", because of his many years of service he wasn't "going to go out that way"??????

Wonder if 'ol crazy heifer from TX...can't remember her name at the moment....will pull the same stunt?

Rangel is a 'playa' for sure...so this is not over. Rather, I believe he will take from the
Al Sharpton playbook and come forth as the injured person, victimized by the powers that be. I laugh...at him and the troglodytes who habitually vote him into office. I can only hope that Rangel is capitalizing on their stupidity and arrogance, at their expense......hehehe

Bingo! After I posted, I started looking. He didn't fire his lawyers, but rather they dumped him. Seems they weren't convinced he could afford their fee. Now he is trying to play the victim card. He complains of 2.5 years of harassment, but hasn't had enough time to get a legal defense fund together (can I do that if I ever get in trouble with the law?). I was amazed to find the hearing will continue.

So, what is the punishment? A Congressional reprimand? Is that like a step or two below a slap on the wrist? He seems to be worried about his reputation and his "50 years or service". I don't think his reputation will be changed one bit either way.

He is known as a skunk by everyone OUTSIDE of his district.
I wonder what they think of him ? Certainly the'll keep voting for him, that's for sure, just like the retards in D.C. kept voting for that old crack-haid mayor of theirs, Marion Barry....who STILL serves the 8th ward.

Rangel better take advantage of the Lame Duck session. Because if he drags this out, he might not find as many friendlies on the Ethics committee when congress changes.

That's what he's banking on. Once the R's take over he can play the race card... "Those damned filthy rich white republicans... always trying to keep a brotha down..."
