Why is it again that he needs to go there? Instead why doesn't he just funnel that 200 million to feed our poor or provide aid to those in need of it in the US. Taking care of American citizens first should come before anyone else....especially when we are paying for it

Yeah, I posted about this trip a week or so ago. He's got roughly 900 hotel rooms booked. The entire Hotel Taj, together with all it's restaurants and conference rooms, etc., and he's bringing his own chefs... Hadn't seen a price tag on it though. Absolutely absurd. I guess we're lucky it's only for a couple of days...
So why does he need to go to India? Maybe someone should sign him up for Skype!!

I love Christmas lights. They remind me of the people who voted for Obama. They all hang together; half of them don't work, and the ones that do, aren't that bright.
For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do
not understand, no explanation is possible.
A golf course is a willful and deliberate misuse of a perfectly good rifle range.
Obama and a cast of thousands will go forth to show the flag or non-flag; as the case may be. This deal will cost at least a billion dollars before the junket is over.
Well, I'm no Obama supporter, but I'm callin' BS on $200,000,000/day. That number seems more than a little implausible to me.
With reference to the personal chef, this may be related to the execrable water sanity in India. I'm told that when in Bangalore -- not exactly in the hinterlands at the end of the ox trail -- you don't want to drink the water no-how, no-way. My boss went there recently and picked up a very nasty intestinal disorder that resulted in his going to the hospital, no kidding. He said the only thing he thought could have caused this problem was that one day he brushed his teeth with tap water -- he was careful to spit this water out and not swallow any of it. Another guy on the line from our client said "That would do it." This particular guy was the only person from his company who had been in India over the last several months who had NOT come down with a very nasty intestinal disorder.
Notwithstanding . . . it does seem absurd to take so many people on a trip to India. Is this a primitive means for Obama to convey his importance? Just as Louis XIV could not travel the roads without an ample posse proportioned to his importance, power, and magnificence? Maybe the upside of this may be that 1/2 those 900 folks will be debilitated by intestinal disorders for a week or two and so can do no further damage to our nation during the lame duck session of Congress?

If Obama's inauguration is any indication, it might be as you suggest with the Louis XIV comparison. Obama was the president who had the big show in Colorado with all the megalith’s and all the pomp and circumstance. Then the trashing of the Mall. He is known for outlandish spending on himself.
