(AP Photo/Musadeq Sadeq) (CNSNews.com) A week that culminates in the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and the end of Ramadan began with angry protests in two Muslim countries over plans by a small church in Florida to burn copies of the Quran on Saturday.
On the eve of the planned event, President Obama will hold a relatively rare presidential press conference, where the heated debates surrounding the Ground Zero mosque and the Quran-burning plans will likely come up.
Muslims want to build a mosque near the site of the twin towers. I don't agree. It shouldn't be done.
However, this is America...thay have a right to do it.
These Christian people want to burn a stack of Korans.

It is interesting that Muslims want their rights but they want to deny someone else's rights.

Makes it quite obvious that they are liberals huh?

I don't give a crap what they are. They are Americans. Folks have burned flags (I don't agree with it), they talk the most ridiculous crap i've ever heard (I disagree with stupid lefties) and yet, Amendment I accomodates that sort of nonsense...supporting that freedom allows the rest of us to say what WE want to say. So, if some priest or whatever wants to burn a stack of korans, as long as he breaks no laws doing it, IT DOES NOT MATTER what people think, it's his right to do it. Effing idiot muslims should have taken the hint and sent him 100,000 korans...bury him under the words of muhammad to the point where he could not burn them all. That's a win for the koran. But if the yellow-belly cowards want to compel a citizen from exercising his rights, because of the possibility of violence from the muslim fringes, then I say one has nothing to do with the other...one guy wants to do something legal, others want to break the law. Well, tear gas, rubber bullets, dogs and bats will take care of one bunch...public opinion will invalidate the other. But if this American choooses to express himself...to exercise his 1st amendment rights in this manner and there's no illegality involved, then he gets to burn his korans. Period. By law, in this country, the minority is protected from the majority...The minority does not get to dictate to the majority.
I've got no problem burning them at all - if someone will give me one I'll gladly burn the pagan thing (I'm not spending my own money on one)
Thing is, no media EVER mentions the US being a Chrisitan nation ...... until they can use it to their advantage, like saying how its not Christ like to burn the koran ....... please
I wish we'd torch a million koran's and light up the sky with the blaze

You say "pagan" like it's a bad thing. America is a constitutional republic, not a Christian theocracy.
And, apparently, the military doesn't always object to burning religious texts:
