I think it's an odd policy and would have been offended if I had seen something like that at my school. Having said that, I'm not exactly looking to file a federal suit against the school. I'd bet that the Department of Education will, though.
I don't see anything wrong with it. It's right in line with the Obama Administration's policies and the policies reintroduced by the Dems in the latest banking bill.

I dont think theres anything to get upset about in this.Without knowing all the details or the entire policy its hard to say for sure.But it appears to me that its a 30 year old policy that served a purpose when it was drafted.According to the atical the school systems there were under scrutiny from the Justice Dept. over desegragation when the policy was implemented.On top of that it encouraged minority students to get more involved in school politics and to be better represented in the student body.
Im not saying the policy is great but things were different 30 years ago and it might have been neccassary at the time.Judging from the photos in the schools homepage I cant quite see where any racism is taking place.

"Therefore, beginning immediately, student elections at Nettleton School District will no longer have a classification of ethnicity," it added. "It is our intent that each student has equal opportunity to seek election for any student office."
Sounds like they made the appropriate changes in their policy.
Now if we can get the entire country to take the same approach to affirmative action and other racist policies this country has adopted over the years.
