This is definitely the impression...and events seem to bear this out. We need caution however...we do not want reprisals against American citizens do we ? The cab driver was the antithesis of a militant muslim, according to all reports. The thing that can tip the balance in the other direction, is if there is another 9/11 type attack with mass-casualties or mega-damage; then look for the reopening of the WWII ***anese Internment camps, reprisals, all sorts of nastiness. It will happen whether it's warranted or not, IMO. The fact there may be 'innocent' Americans who happen to be muslims who get caught up in this will be a very small concern at that point...
What about the Muslim (that I personally knew) that killed his two daughters for dating outside their faith.. BTW, he's still at large, probably back home in his own country being looked at as a hero!
I think he should be prosecuted and locked up because he's a POS criminal also. We'll never be able to influence much less control countries that hide behind Sharia and Muslim rules. I accept that. However, when somebody comes into our country, the same should apply--they need to follow our laws and be held accountable for our laws. After all, it's the law.

why should I care about a muslim when nobody in this country anymore seems to worry about when a Chrisitian gets slashed?
Because it's the law in our country and the law should apply equally to everybody. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. We don't need a bunch of stupid laws to come out of the incident, just the proper prosecution and application of justice.

Muslims should obey our laws! Was flying airliners into the twin towers against the law? They are people of double standards, they are not tolerant of Christians yet Christians are made to be tolerant of them.

There is no such thing as a Musim that doesn't believe in Islam, it's like saying I'm a Christian that doesn't believe in God! Last time I looked Isalm was a religion, not a country!!!! Not a Middle Eastern people are not Muslims. I have no problem the them.

I don't have much use for any them. I am sure there are plenty of good ones that want to live in peace and harmony but the radicals are the ones who get all the press and keep people on edge. I am willing to bet on that day alone in Ny there were several people who were slashed with a knife and only this one gets the press. Next time they strike here in the states I wonder how long it will take the average person to turn against the PC stance that is being thrust upon us.

First, Muslims and anybody else who comes into our countries are subject to our laws and should obey them. 2nd, a church, religion, etc. is not allowed to legally make or enforce laws within our country. That authority is vested in congress and the state legislatures. Many liberals are always harping about the separation of church and state. This would be a logical and appropriate application of that principle.

Are you deficient ? Do you not hear and comprehend the consequences of the Muslim Imam's statements regarding the US must be more Sharia compliant ? Do you not follow the events in the U.K. where muslims there are petitioning the government there for sharia law as the primary law they would like to live under ? There's ONE LAW in this country. ANY OTHER LAW YOU MAY CHOOSE TO LIVE UNDER MUST BE SUBSERVIENT TO U.S. LAW...NOT the other way around. This is the point you could not understand. And it's not where I"M going with it, it's the further example of how insidious and disingenuous so-called 'american muslims' can be in the furtherance of their goals, which are the incorporation of the U.S.A. as a muslim nation....a 'grand slam' to be sure, and very unlikely, but the fact that they'd attempt to supercede US law with religious law SHOULD be alarming, especially when that religious law calls for executions and maimings for 'law' breakers.
