Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Iraq, last brigade pulled out...but soldiers still there.

how long will it take for our troops to totally not be over there, anywhere, anymore?

I'm inclined to think that the Iraqis will, in time, find that not only annoying but unacceptable.

The Iraqis have already found the continued US military presence in their country to be unacceptable.

The Iraqi parliament has repeatedly demanded that all US troops leave Iraq by 2011. Obama has promised to remove all US troops from Iraq in 2011.

“The maximum duration is three years. It cannot be extended beyond the three years but it can be reduced,” an Iraqi source close to the matter said, explaining that under the suggested amendments either Baghdad or Washington would be able to accelerate the US withdrawal rate provided a 12-month notice period is given.

It is ironic that alQueda in Iraq may be back with a vengeance as US combat troops leave the country. Iraq may dissolve into civil war or anarchy.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) – Al Qaeda's Iraqi affiliate on Friday claimed responsibility for a suicide attack on an army recruitment center in Baghdad in which at least 57 recruits and soldiers were killed.
In one of the deadliest incidents of the year, a suicide bomber Tuesday struck a crowd of young men waiting to hand in job applications to join the Iraqi army.

The insurgents have sought to exploit a political vacuum created by a failure of Sunni, Shi'ite and Kurdish factions to agree on a coalition government five months after an inconclusive March 7 parliamentary election.

It should also be noted that the head of Iraq's military has asked us to stay until at least 2020...

In 2008 the Iraqi parliament passed a resolution demanding US troops leave the country before 2012. That resolution as not been rescinded. President Bush promised to abide by the Iraqi resolution and so has president Obama.

i'm not surprised the man in charge of the Iraqi military wants US troops to stay longer. He is well aware aware that the Iraqi military and police cannot control the country. Terror bombings in Iraq have become almost an everyday occurance.
