Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

well, considering the most racist element of this society is the Amerikan 'left', it's no small wonder Harry Reid can't keep hateful crap from spouting out his trap. No surprise here...

Fine. You heard no racist comments. So, vote democrat. I heard a racist comment...I oppose it based on the subjective focus on a single racial group, and the passage of judgement upon them.
Would I be a racist if I said "Cripes...Lincoln freed the slaves...I don't understand how any blacks could belong to the democrat party, the party of the KKK".

The left can be racist all they want and get away with it. If anyone disagrees with Obammy they are considered racist, that being said, I guess I'm a racist!

I interpreted Reid to mean that he thinks all Hispanics are stupid. He obviously lumps all Hispanics into one group, and evidently he believes they need somebody like him to take care of them.

That is a true racist in my book.

No. That wouldn't be a racist statement. And Reid's statement wasn't racist either. Ignorant and short-sighted, maybe, but far from racist.

It wasn't too long ago that we had a discussion on this board in which many of us said we couldn't understand why Jews supported Democrats. Does that make us anti-semitic?

We live in a society where people try to take the simplest of statements and twist it into a racist statement. It's stupid, regardless of whether the guy saying it or the guys doing the twisting are Democrats, Republican, etc.

I guess what Reid said about Obammy wasn’t raciest either when he referred to him being elect able because of his light skin and not having a ***** dialect? I'm surprised he didn't call him a good boy!

we agree to disagree....to lump 'hispanics' into one category and then attribute a 'defective' status to the ones who do not conform to preconceived notions about what their behavior SHOULD be, to me that's racist. I believe Reid held no malice towards them...certainly he's not wishing ill upon them, but his ignorance of the way the world works is astounding, especially for somebody who is of national stature as the Senate Majority Leader. IMO there are racists who are 'malignant' (the Rev.Wright and all who follow him) and there are racists who are 'benign' (like 'dingy' harry) who operate under a false or preconceived notion of people based on racial and/or cultural stereotypes.

I'd like to see a debate on the issue between Reid and Marco Rubio. Reid would be left a twitching puddle of goo...
