Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

I know Brewer is going to go for appeal; they aren't done fighting yet and they have my full support.

This court ruling is pukey.

I wish that the border states would get together and sue the federal government for failure to enforce federal immigration law.

Bolton was appointed to the federal bench by Bill Clinton on the recommendation of US senator Kyl.

Quote:
On the recommendation of U.S. Senator Jon Kyl, Bolton was nominated to the United States District Court for the District of Arizona by President Bill Clinton on July 21, 2000 to a seat vacated by Robert Broomfield. Bolton was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on October 3, 2000 on the unanimous consent of the Senate and received commission on October 13, 2000. [2]

I haven't read and/or studied the position. However, if the news reports are true, where is the problem in this sense? The news reports are that the judge stayed part of it but in perticular, LOE shouldn't be reguired to check imigration status. I take it that the law can't compel them as it is writen but it doesn't stop them from doing so. Add that in with the law that requires all visa holders to maintain proper documentation and have it available for any LOE, what stops the local LOE from going ahead and checking imigration status? Furthermore, the Supreme Court has already said it is constitutional to ask any person suspected of being illegal for ID.

I say full speed ahead.

FYI, I was selected for jury duty last week. Didn't have to serve due to my disability. I can't sit for long periods of time. However, it was a case of Indecency with a minor. We went all day on jury selection with the DA and then late in the day it was the defendant's attorney. As suspected, due to court appointed inturpreters, the man charge was an illegal. When that was revealed, my first question was "why aint his ass on a one way ticket on Greyhound to El Paso and then kicked accross the boarder?

Fieldmouse , they weren't required in the law in the first place, it was up to them if they deemed it necessary. From what I understand now is they can't ask them period. In all essence the law was gutted by the judge.

No they were required because if they didn't citizens could sue. However, there's were the judge is wrong because Federal Law requires non-citizens to produce visa's at anytime if asked by an LOE.
