Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Tax? Spend?

As discussed last week, Erskine Bowles, Obama's appointee to the commission studying the debt and ways to reduce it, and former Clinton Chief of Staff, says that continuing to spend like Obama has done will "destroy the country from the inside."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...071101956.html

Now, Christina Romer, the Chairman of Obama's Council of Economic Advisors, says that allowing the Bush tax cuts to lapse will be "highly contractionary."

http://www.independent.org/blog/?p=6958

With advice like this, from their own economists, what do you think the morons on the Left will do? I'm betting that, despite warnings about spending destroying us, and despite warnings that tax increases will be highly contractionary during an already weak economy, that these fools will raise taxes and argue for more spending. Fools. Every damned one of them. And, anyone who would vote for them...

The morons on the left and the morons on the right are all responsible for the 13 trillion dollar national debt. After nearly 200 years the US national debt was at about one trillion dollars: Then Reagan got his massive tax cut with no reduction in spending. The national debt doubled in Reagans first term: It went downhill from there.

There is something worse than tax and spend: That is spending without having the revenue to pay for it. It costs money to fight wars and provide for all kinds of social programs. We can eliminate the wars that are not absolutely required and we can cut social programs.

It is true that Obama has taken deficit spending to totally new levels. Deficit spending did not start on Obama's watch nor will it end on his watch or the watch of his successor.

I think it's important to keep in mind that, while the President has a hand in it, it's actually the House of Representatives that spends the money. And, while a significant debt increase occurred during the Reagan terms, the House was held by Democrats during his entire tenure. And, while Bush's debt numbers went up initially, they were coming back down, until the Democrats reclaimed control of Congress halfway through his second term.

The Bush administration racked up deficits of $158 billion in 2002, $378 billion in 2003, $413 billion in 2004, $318 billion in 2005, $248 billion in 2006, $162 billion in 2007, and $410 billion in 2008.

Now that Charlie Crist has gone independent, maybe all the 3rd party independent crowd can rally behind him. I just wonder who would make the best presidential ticket between Lieberman, Bernie Sanders and Charlie Crist.

Who knows, maybe an I in front of Arlen Spectors name could transform him into an honorable man.

In the real world no. But we are living in a world where independents are never wrong....even if most of them who voted for Obama have a change of heart now.

That was only the election 2 years ago. The debt has been growing in this country since day one. You said it yourself many times, you vote against the incumbant every election as one of your top reasons to vote for a candidate. That's almost 50 years of a voting record. I bet it does make you feel better as an "Indepedent" when you can follow the lunch crowd and just switch quickly over to the side of pointing fingers.
