Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Smile Michigan leads as 9 states back Arizona law

Our attorney general has his head in the right place. Our governor, as usual, has no clue.

Yep.

I live in Phoenix. My in-laws are neighbors of Rob Krentz the rancher who was murdered. It is shocking what goes on down there every single night.

Oh and one other thing. Rhode Island has the same law, it has been in effect for a while now. If it is such a problem, why not sue Rhode Island as well?

Notice that OK is not on the list of states backing AZ law. This is because our AG, Drew Edmondson, has his head up his Democratic butt. Edmondson is running for governor of OK and he wants Obama to come here and campaign for him.

Judging by the effect Obama has on election outcomes, I think I'd be happy that ol' gutpile came and campaigned for Edmondson. It'll be a lock that the republican will take it..... What is the political climate in OK ? I am of the opinion (completly unsubstantiated, by the way), that Ok would be a conservative place.....

It is pretty much conservative. The vast majority of Democrat politicians here are conservative. Then the Democrats and Republicans get to the capitol and the only thing they agree on is new and innovative ways to shaft the Native Americans. The political hacks hate the fact that about 38 Indian tribes issue their own license plates and run casinos.

The OK "stand your ground" law passed the legislature with little opposition and was signed into law by our Democrat governor. The OK "make my day law" also had little opposition in the legislature.

Edmondson is a special case. He comes from a family of OK politicians and judges. There are lots of us who think that he is a total crook. Example: Former governor Walters was charged with several felony counts. Edmondson allowed Walters to plea to a misdemeanor.

Anything the maze and blue is for is crap. For years Mich has tried to woo tourists with an add saying "Say yes to Michigan". I always say no and have not lived long enough to regret it. Beside it's North of the river from me and something happens to people when they're on the other side. I make it a point to not cross over to the other side and believe itr or not people who I've told that to have over time smiled and agreed with me.

It is not a plus for the great state of AR. that Mich. is backing them. To the contrary they will most likely be hit with some kind of plague.

Sounds you have that rarest of all animals, a pack of conservative democrats. I bet they're not faring well onthe national front but Oklahomans like 'em just fine. As far as Edmondson is concerned, all I can say is that if you smell a skunk in the woodpile, chase it out. Sounds like you guys got a good thing going over there, although I have clue about taxes and stuff like that.

Bergall, OK taxes are low. i can compare OK taxes to NJ because I worked in NJ for two years in the mid 90s. OK has shall issue concealed carry. Our prosecutors are elected and, except for the prosecutor in Tulsa, they are very good on self defense shootings. An OK prosecutor is not required to take a righteous self defense shooting case to the grand jury.

In a case where the OK prosecutor declines to take a self defense shooting to the grand jury; the family and friends of the late perp can get a grand jury if they can get enough signatures on a petition for a grand jury. However, not many folks are inclined to sign a petition for a grand jury on behalf of a deceased home invader.

Our former prosecutor gave passes on at least three self defense shoots. This is one of them.

LAWTON (AP) -- A prosecutor cited Oklahoma's "Stand Your Ground" law in announcing that no charges would be filed against a man who shot and killed a teen who appeared to be a burglar.

Comanche County District Attorney Robert Schulte said he plans to take no action against Jeffrey David Dorrell, 40, who shot and killed Frederick Stuever, 17.

Sadly, the big dumb kid who was shot came from a good family. He was a senior at Cache high school and was enrolled in a fireman's course at vo-tech. No one knows why he burglarized that house.

taxes in NJ are over the top.....we're paying approximately $1200 a month just in PROPERTY TAXES....that's ridiculous. Now that taxes are going up after year-end,
and the medical coverage is gonna skyrocket, we're looking for inexpensive places to relocate. No OK in the next couple years....but will consider it for retirement....NJ is just too ridiculous...but it's where I work, and it's where my wife works, and we both gotta be able to drive to where we 'make the fazools' so Pennsylvania is the only option so far....they have shall-issue too, but state gov't seems to be drifting to the left...too many dems there who do NOT appear conservative...
