Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default President "Shakedown" Obama is at it again

A new day, another industry needs to be rattled. How dare they raise premiums, Damn it! Profits are evil. Americans are suppose to have a "right" to healthcare and not be forced to pay for it.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama will warn health insurance industry executives at a White House meeting on Tuesday against imposing big rate increases ahead of tighter rules under the new U.S. healthcare law, The New York Times reported.
Politics | Healthcare Reform
"Our concern is that they not try and, under the cover of the act, get in under the wire here on rate increases," Obama's senior adviser David Axelrod told the newspaper.
The White House is concerned insurers will blame the new law for premium increases that really are intended to maximize industry profits, the newspaper said.
"Our message to them is to work with this law, not against it; don't try and take advantage of it or we will work with state authorities and gather the authority we have to stop rate gouging," the newspaper quoted Axelrod as saying.
Provisions of the healthcare law, which aims to expand consumers' coverage while cracking down on discriminatory industry practices, start taking effect this summer and fall.
On Monday, a survey released by a non-profit healthcare group said insurers are raising prices by an average of 20 percent for working age adults who buy their own policies.
Such premium cost increases affected more than three-quarters of the 14 million U.S. adults who buy their own health plans and caused some to either seek a cheaper option with fewer benefits or switch insurers altogether, the Kaiser Family Foundation study showed.
The Obama administration has blasted health insurance companies such as WellPoint Inc for their premium increases in individual policies sold in California and other states.

Yep... The whole system is in for a major upheaval. My coverage just got changed from an HMO to a high deductible plan with a Health Savings Account. So, now, meds that I take will be completely out of my pocket instead of just paying the deductible portion, since prescriptions are no longer covered by the plan, no more $30.00 visits to see the doctor, etc., etc., etc...

I see a doctor once a year to renew my prescriptions. With a $3000 deductible, and no prescription coverage, my annual health care costs just shot through the roof...

I carry my son on a separate policy. His premiums over the last year have gone from $59 per month to $138 per month. Thank you El Presidente.

Obama reminds me of what his comrade in Venezuela is doing:

Quote:
Hugo Chavez Spearheads Raids as Food Prices Skyrocket

Mountains of rotting food found at a government warehouse, soaring prices and soldiers raiding wholesalers accused of hoarding: Food supply is the latest battle in President Hugo Chavez's socialist revolution.

Howard Yanes / AP
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez says government-led raids of food markets will reverse exploitation of the poor, whom he needs for political support.
Venezuelan army soldiers swept through the working class, pro-Chavez neighborhood of Catia in Caracas last week, seizing 120 tons of rice along with coffee and powdered milk that officials said was to be sold above regulated prices.

"The battle for food is a matter of national security," said a red-shirted official from the Food Ministry, resting his arm on a pallet laden with bags of coffee.

It is also the latest issue to divide the Latin American country where Chavez has nationalized a wide swathe of the economy, he says to reverse years of exploitation of the poor.

Chavez supporters are grateful for a network of cheap state-run supermarkets and they say the raids will slow massive inflation.

Critics accuse him of steering the country toward a communist dictatorship and say he is destroying the private sector.

Wake up people. All this president (Obama) has to do is make a bogey man out of anything, and he get's a pass from the American people to completely steel private property without going through the judicial process. It is sad that a majority of Americans have bought hook line and sinker what is happening to BP. I am not apologizing for BP wrong doings, but I would just hope that my company does not fall on the wrong side politically of this president or any future president who has assumed power the constitution has not given to destroy them.

He is doing the same thing with insurance companies, and now look at the mess. He stole GM from the bond holders, and gave it to the UAW. He has no authority to do what he is doing. He is ruling out of fear. He can destroy a company at a whim, and every business knows it. It don't matter that he don't have the sense to screw in a light bulb, let alone how to make a profit, or meet a payroll. He only knows how to intimidate, destroy, and steal from the producers. If you run a business, you better damn well be in line with Obama, or else. His Marxist agenda will come before yours, or anybody else's job. This oil spill is a gift for Obama.

The ramifications of what this President is doing is far more damaging than anything BP did wrong. The rule of law is at stake. Liberty and freedom is at stake. Without the right to private property, there is no liberty.

Liberty is what's at stake. Don't be lured away from it by the sight of an oil covered bird.
