I, as most of you, have been watching the oil spill unfold and destroy our southern coastline.
It is a terrible situation!
I have watched with disgust as our federal government has pursicuted BP for this accident and the bottom line is that this is a terrible accident! I don't believe that BP did anything that any other company would have done to cut cost on a project.
I also believe that accident or not the clean up and economic fall out from this accedent is BP's responsibility!
But all I've heard from the federal government is how they plan on making BP pay for this accident.
And it makes me sick,we have the fed's grilling BP's CEO as the oil spews into the gulf, this is repulsive to me,there will be plenty of time to grill/prosicute or what ever else they want to do with BP.
but as our federal government always likes to do,they are putting the cart before the horse.
STOP THE LEAK FIRST
that is what is most importiant not who's at fault or who will pay
THERE WILL BE TIME FOR THAT LATTER!!!!

I heard an Obama clip on the radio this morning as I was driving to the office. He was talking about making sure that BP "pays for their irresponsibility."
I couldn't help but laugh. If BP was irresponsible, what does that say for Obama, since he insists that he's in control and yet the oil continues to spurt.
Standard op procedure for Obama, though. Use words intended to rile people up against who he judges to be his opposition. It's ironic that the guy who promised a new era of moving away from divisive politics is constantly trying to drive a wedge.

scapegoating, it's called.....the National Socialist Worker's Party was very successful at doing this in the 30's.....
Bumbling Barry has succeeded in usurping judicial authority in the fines levied to BP,
he's not lifted a finger to cleanup what's been spilled, and that's a fed responsibility,
he's once again on his GREEN kick in response to this spill after giving the go-ahead for more drilling and after the fed agency MMS ok'd everything BP did. There's blame for BP, obviously, but the criminality of this rogue administration is astounding.
Barry's not even fit to shine Bush's wing-tips...but is anybody really surprised ? This is what happens when you refuse to elect an executive and opt instead for a 'community organizer'...bah ! This administrationn is an embarrassment on a worldwide scale.

Yep... Rules for Radicals. Straight out of the Saul Alinsky handbook.

The leak is an engineering problem that the U.S. Government lacks the resources to solve since in this country nearly all petroleum related technology is in private hands. The President may have great political power but that is of no use when confronting a technical problem like the oil leak.
While the President can not stop the leak he can take steps to protect those people who have been harmed by the disaster. It is not persecution to require that BP compensate people that have been harmed by the spill. Persuading BP to set up a $20 billion escrow account to repair the damage and pay the salaries of oil workers temporarily unemployed by the situation goes beyond what most people thought the President would be able to get from BP to compensate for the damage they have done.
It may be true that many oil companies other than BP would also
violate safety regulations in similar circumstances but the record does not bear that out. In the past few years BP has been cited for over 400 serious violations while the company with the second most had only six. BP has long been lax on safety and this time the Government is really going to make them pay for it.

You're right, BUT he does have the power, just not the know how, to pull resources in from around the globe to HELP SLOW THE SPREAD of oil and TO HELP CLEAN UP the oil, BUT yet he's done very little with either, hence allowing the impact to be far greater than it needs to be. BUT then again, the worse the crisis the easier it will be for him to use it to move forward with his agenda!!

While it is true that other countries have offered their services in dealing with the situation what is not as widely publicized is that in nearly all cases the U.S. Government would have to pay the providers for them. Before it agrees to buy these services from foreign countries and companies it is only prudent for the Government to first determine whether it already has the neccessary resources and could carry out the operation without paying for it, whether or not what is being offered is worth what is being charged and if the U.S. Government can obtain reimbursement from BP for any services it does purchase from abroad. The question also has to be asked if these services are valuable and available at a price, why isn't BP, who caused the spill, making use of them?

Because of the Jones act, until Obama lifts this act NO foriegn ship can operate in American waters,so that leaves BP to use only what American companies have to offer.
With this big of a spill we need to be using all available resources!!
Although the cost of this spill I feel is BP's responsibility,I also feel that some blame lies with the federal government who would not allow BP to drill in 500' of water but let them drill in 5000' of water.
I myself feel that until the leak is stopped, all else should take a back seat.

Lefty morons confuse the issue. If it's money they need to pay for foreign assistance, there's billions in unspent TARP money that could be applied to that bill....but Prez POS is not a manager, he's a community organizer; he has no ability to muster the correct forces and people and equipment needed to do the job. Nobody's blaming Prez POS for the spill, even tho' the government agency responsible for the inspections was negligent. Prez POS's responsiblity lies in his ignorance and inexperience in MANAGING this disaster. He's good at pointing fingers. Now he can take that finger and stick it where the sun don't shine because Gulf state residents will be swimming in oil till the cows come home before this incompetent babboon realizes what his legal responsibility is....
