Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Freedom is not the problem

I post this because I got into a great discussion with my BIL (close enough) who came from Cuba. Quick background, I've said more in past posts, his grandfather built one of the biggest farms/ranches on Cuba with only a 9th grade education. It's now owned and lived on by relatives of Castro.

So at the end of the evening after great discusion of socialism and socialist policies, things broke down on people choosing to send their money overseas instead of choosing to spend it here. I had to ask, who's money is it? Did they not do something of value in exchange for that money? Does the earner of that money have the right to spend it as they wish? All yes. However, he said something needs to be done to restrict it from leaving the country. After some time, he agreed it was ok for me to invest half my money overseas because it's investment and I live here. I had to ask, what happens if I move out of the country? That was a different story. One last thing to add, he couldn't agree on the amount leaving. Yet he agreed the government spends trillions on things they have no business spending on.

I got news for you folks on this forum. Freedom isn't the problem why we are in this down turn. It's government deciding they know how best to spend your money. My BIL is very conservative. However, to sit there and complain how someone else chooses what to do with their money isn't American and you don't believe in freedom. The conversation should stop with, they earn it, they get to choose how to spend it. Once you go down that road of "government needs too..... " You have abandoned what made this country great and are fighting against freedom.

Freedom isn't the problem!
