Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Rueters caught doctoring photos again

Of course they deny anything wrong and it was all unintentional. I have to ask, when does Israel get the unintential break from Reuters?

Hmmmmmm.... The cropped photo magnifies the photo slightly but doesn't seem to enhance the picture other than editing out the knife. Anybody else have a different perspective when comparing the 2 photos? I wouldn't expect an experienced photographer or photo editor to just "miss" something like this. It definitely raises a question and makes you wonder what exactly was their intent.

Cropping images is a standard part of presentation and details can often be innocently chopped from the photo as a result. But you're right: in this case, the image wasn't enhanced in any way. It's hard for me to believe that whomever edited the picture did so simply to focus more on the soldier lying on the ground. It's entirely possible that the photo editor's intentions were innocent, but history isn't on Reuters' side.

No love lost on the Israeli side from me, they've done their fair share in this 5000 year war, but that ain't right, trained eye and all huh?

While we're on the topic of news outlets altering pictures...Is this a case of Fox calling Reuters "black"?

Busted ? For what ? The Israelis give as good as they get. And in a piece that is focused on a fight, where a bloody soldier is pictured, it IS a political motivation that would cause an editor to crop a knife from the hand of a mutant without enhancing the photo in any way. BUSTED !

You can hold your prejudices as closely as you might want, they ARE our ally in the region. Turkey used to be a pretty dependable ally for us as well, but they're drifting down the gutter and will eventually drain into the sewer of muslim fundamentalism. They will not be an ally for much longer, I fear, which makes our alliance with Israel that much more critical.

5000 years ? Seems the current crop of crap was begun in 1948 when a piece of land owned by a country that acquired it by war was awarded to a population of human beings who were being systematically wiped out not for what they did, but for what they were. There's been no peace since. For me, anything pre-dating that land acquisition is of no consequence and I relegate it to the ranks of blood lost in the course of human history.

Oops.

Funny how that works, isn't it? As I said on another thread a few days ago, it's all about political agendas. Either side is equally guilty of the same stuff and each waste a lot of energy condemning the other side.

We all live in glass houses when it comes to politics and what we'll do to further our agenda.

What prejudices???? I don't have any preconceived beliefs, opinions, or did I make any judgements w/o ascertaining the facts....And sure as "heck" don't need a lesson from you on our Mid East policy, or who our friend and allies are ANYWHERE in the world. It was a simple post, read it again. Reuters has been "BUSTED" for cropping photos "again"! Not their first time. WOW!

Your post demonstrates a definite bias against Israel...as in "No love lost" and pointing out 'their part' in the last 5000 years. Seems to me to be less an indication of political picture cropping than it is a commentary on your dislike of Israel and 'their part' in the last 5000 years of human history, whatever that means. So it seems you DO need a lesson, either from ME or from someone else who can TELL YOU about what you need to know. This thread was not even about your narrow anti-semitic view of Israel, it was about the manipulation of historical data (such as a photo) by a news organization under the guise of objective reporting. Seems neither you nor Reuters can be objective when it comes to the subject of Israel and/or the Jews. It seems that libs like you are ALWAYS looking to condemn Israel...and your 'no love lost' comment belies your ersatz objectivity in evaluating the news foto. I'm not saying you need to love Israel...I'm saying they are an ally of the United States of America and liberal scum actively work to push the Jewish homeland to destruction. THAT"s what I'm saying.
I can't even GUESS what you're talking about in your 5000 year statement, which I can only state is yet another attempt to say that ISRAEL DESERVES THE BOMBS, THE MISSILES, AND THE TERROR THEY RECEIVE AT THE HANDS OF THE TROGLODYTES THEY ARE FORCED TO CALL NEIGHBORS. Yes, you are prejudicial in your remarks and like a true liberal, you don't even know it until you're called out on it at which point you deny it. Ugh !
