I was recently thinking how stupid/boring basketball is, who wants to watch that garbage, let alone soccer...?

I'm with you on both those issues. Soccer is ok, I guess, but to hold a world-class event in a world-class septic tank like where that stadium is located begs normal people to ask "WHY" ? Basketball has, for me, become completely irrelevant.
