One has to ask, who compromised if they just plan on repealling it? Does this mean the military also must foot the bill for a fudge packer's boyfriend? What about the lesbo girl friend? Will we the tax payer have to foot the bill for the pregnancy? What happens in the event of AIDs? Will they get a medical discharge and then disability? Will they share the same sleeping qtrs like I had to with 8 other guys in a 6'x8' sleeping space stacked with 4 bunks high? What about subs? What about manning the big guns on a battleship where one committed suicide and took other with him over a love rejection?

It's pitiful. About 40 years ago it was considered to be a mental illness, and mental illness certainly plagues the lifestyle. Now the military has to deal with it. Just more of bho tearing down the country, one brick at a time.

Conseratives like to whine about government taking their money while using government services every single day. What road did you drive to work on today? What police agency allowed you a safe ride to work today? There are certain things that the government is empowered by the Constitution to do, and conservatives have NO problem with paying taxes to fund such things. Conservatives have problems with the fact that the government takes far more than what is needed for Constitutionally proper areas of government responsibility. It is NOT appropriate, EVER, for the government to confiscate half of what people earn.
By the way, you are OBVIOUSLY talking about things vastly different from what FM was discussing. His statements related specifically to wealth redistribution. Reading comprehension.... use it.

Wow, typical uneducated liberal response. FYI, police and roads are state functions writen into state constitutions. Where it becomes federal responsibility they too are written into the constitution. I complain all the time about the miss use of those funds as well. Only 20 cents on the dollar goes to the actual reason the tax was implemented in the first place. The rest is misdirected to other sources. What's not writen into the constitution are the entitlements ie slavery. The fruits of my labor as redirected by force to someone who has done absolutely nothing to earn them.

Regardless of what you think about the lifestyle, it's detrimental for soldiers. Many live in barracks with shower bays--you don't get a private stall. Out in the field it's as bad or worse. There's a reason males and females are separated. To allow openly gay soldiers would be the equivelent of having co-ed barracks and showers.

Hey LBR, you're right. That 6x8 space for 8 guys to live in was real. I had a canvas bunk with a 2" foam mattress and only just enough space to turn over before hitting the bunk on top of me. They were stacked 4 high.
I certainly would like some answers to the pregnancy questions, AID, medical care, dand such.
