Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

If an economic boycott is truly what you desire, I will be happy to encourage Arizona utilities to renegotiate your power agreements so Los Angeles no longer receives any power from Arizona-based generation.

I am confident that Arizona’s utilities would be happy to take those electrons off your hands. If, however, you find that the City Council lacks the strength of its convictions to turn off the lights in Los Angeles and boycott Arizona power, please reconsider the wisdom of attempting to harm Arizona’s economy.

People of goodwill can disagree over the merits of SB 1070. A statewide economic boycott of Arizona is not a message sent in goodwill.

I think that is delightful. Whether this comes to pass is another story. This is one commission member: how many other commission members are there? Are there any legal issues? Still, it should give the Mayor of LA pause to think of the prudence of his demagoguery. I would guess that if LA has to make up a 25% short fall in electricity sourcing, and the parties they approach to purchase surplus electricity from know their predicament (which of course they do know), I'm guessing they will pay a steep price for their electricity. Two can play this economic blackmail game, and it may be that cutting off 25% of LA's power is a bigger trump card to play than cutting business contracts LA may have with Arizona businesses.

California is rife with idiots. Cali has a law on their books which is virtually identical to that of Arizona. Yet the morons and hypocrites want to call for a boycott? Fools. Every one of 'em. I'd love to see Arizona shut off California's power...

Can anyone say Brown Outs. Iam sure Californias Green Energy can make up the diff, that is.....during the day if the sun is shinning and the wind is blowing. In truth, if the price gets up to 200 bucks a megawatt, Arizonia will find it irresistable not to sell. Going to be a long hot summer...for some.

I don't know... Mexico's got an extremely strict immigration policy. I don't think they'd take all those Californians... For that matter, they might not even take their own citizens back. But, they'll raise a big stink about OUR immigration policies.

Good for Arizona, it won't ever happen but at least it will make the dirtbags in LA think about it for a minute...
