An email I got today. I don't know how many of these are true and I'm not going to take the time to check them all out but I would venture a guess that at least a few of them are. I know one is.

You should call up the Obama administration and volunteer up your future pay checks to support all of the illegals financial needs. I'm sure that there are enough with your mind set to take care of the illegals. If all of you bleeding hearts get together to donate your pay checks the illegals can really prosper while at the same time reduce my tax burden and the national debt.

I'm about as anti illegal alien as it gets, being a legal alien that went through all the dollars, time and paperwork to do it the right way - I have a certain resentment for those who skirt the system. With that being said, I do believe that the above is very misleading. Oh sure, some of it may be true if the person had enough money to buy some fake documents but it makes it sound like there are gov't officials at this side of the border ready to hand all these things out as a reward for "making it across". Most people here probably know this is not the case.
I'm not going to write a book here but here is my experience when I first arrived.
- Get a job. Have to fill out an I-9 which I have to provide documentation of my legal status. Also need a SS#.
- Need a social security card. Need to show proof of status before they even talk to you, you wouldn't believe the paperwork you have to fill out for this thing.
- Need to get a DL. Need to have a ss# to get one, see above point.
- Need a credit card, Need to have a ss# to get one, see above point.
I could go on but I won't. Truth is there are more checks and balances in the system than this email lets on. Is it perfect? Of course not there are always some that figure out ways to get around the system. But I guarantee that most, if not all of this email if very misleading.

The only reason you went through all of this is because you immigrated legally and wanted to become a contributing citizen of the United States.
*Illegals DO NOT get drivers licenses, they can't in most states.
*Illegals DO NOT get "A" numbers.
*Illegals DO NOT get social security cards, they can't because they are illegals.
*Illegals do get jobs but they DO NOT fill out W2's and pay taxes on their wages. The people that hire them know they are illegal and pay them cash under the table.
*Illegals DO NOT apply for credit cards. You have to have a social security number.
