Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Woohoo....

My oldest kid has been working 70-100 hours per week for the last three years to support his family while his wife attended nursing school. She's finally graduating this week and already has a couple of good job offers. So, he'll get to return to a normal work schedule. And, they're talking about moving to the neighborhood adjacent to ours, so we'll have closer access to the grandbabies...

Sorry, it's not politics but...

Congrats to all! Shows what can be accomplished with hard work and dedication, not to mention husband and wife working as a team!

Great story. My hat is off to them for doing all they can do to achieve their goals. You should be proud.

Actually, I think his plan is to go back to the fire academy to renew his firefighter certification (he already graduated, but his certification lapsed, so he's got a couple of continuing education classes he'll have to take), complete his EMT training, and then try to get a job with the Houston Fire Dept. HFD currently requires both FF and EMT certifications to be considered for a job...

So, he'll likely be doing 40 hours a week of work and another 20-30 hours a week of classes and training. A minimal cutback in total hours, but, good to see the kids thinking long term...

Glad to hear he has a plan. Near by free baby sitters aren't bad either. You just make sure you do your job and spoil those grand kids rotten.

Yeah... My wife has that covered nicely... She gives them sweets, and they act like this: Then we send 'em home.
