Actually, I think his plan is to go back to the fire academy to renew his firefighter certification (he already graduated, but his certification lapsed, so he's got a couple of continuing education classes he'll have to take), complete his EMT training, and then try to get a job with the Houston Fire Dept. HFD currently requires
both FF and EMT certifications to be considered for a job...
So, he'll likely be doing 40 hours a week of work and another 20-30 hours a week of classes and training. A minimal cutback in total hours, but, good to see the kids thinking long term...
