Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Obama lifted restrictions on BP, after getting his pockets padded.

Obama received more money from BP than any one, and now we learn that he lifted restrictions on BP.

Now, lets recall a little quote from Obama, "Lobbyisit will not find a job in my White House."

I don't think they were ever in the White House, if they were it would've been news.

I had a legitimate thought, but it's runoft.

Why is it even note worthy that a politician does something like this? Still doesn't explain the cauldron of swirling conspiracies that are brewing in the pot.

One thing is crystal clear, the states fears that a spill could do harm to their lively hood can't be denied.

Found that thought or one of them. How is it that BP which should be swimming in so much wealth it could possibly buy the continent of Australia and have a billion or 2 left over can't keep a rig operating safety?

Here's the other thought ( I knew the beer would kick in ). If BP made a deal with the government let it be a lesson to everyone. The government is about to hit BP with billions of dollars in fines and who knows what else. There is no honor among thieves.

Offshore drilling is controlled by a little known organization called the Minerals Management Service. MMS comes under the control of the Dep't of the Interior. MMS had wide latitude in managing the extraction of minerals. In some ways the MMS circumvents EPA regulations.

Every UXO clearance job i was ever worked on had a very detailed environmental impact statement. This was a requirement of the EPA. Not one shovel full of dirt could be moved without it. Not so with offshore drilling under the MMS.

The MMS has a culture of corruption that goes back many years.

Many employees identified in the report told investigators that they didn't think ethics rules applied to them because of their "unique" role in the agency and that they needed to socialize with industry representatives for "market intelligence," according to the report. Those employees, some of whom have been transferred to different offices, have been recommended for internal administrative action.

The inspector general's release comprised three separate reports, including one devoted to the program's former director, Smith, 56, who resigned last year. It alleges that Smith improperly worked part time for Geomatrix Consultants, an Oakland, Calif.-based environmental and engineering firm, and marketed the company to government clients.

Additionally, the report said, Smith had an inappropriate sexual relationship with a subordinate whom he paid to buy cocaine, allegedly promising her a $250 bonus in return. The report stated that Smith admitted to the sexual encounter.

In late 2006 questions arose over its handling of leases written in 1998 and 1999 that allowed major oil companies drilling in the Gulf of Mexico to avoid billions of dollars in royalty payments.

Former Interior Department auditors accused the agency of failing to bill companies. "We weren't allowed to audit them. It was kind of disturbing," said Bobby L. Maxwell, an auditor who sued the federal government for not collecting royalties. "You couldn't really see what was going on."

When the gov't wants to hide something they bury it in a PDF file.
