I've asked our resident supporters this question several times, but it always gets ducked, dodged, avoided, ignored--whatever--it doesn't get answered.
If it's so great, why did the ones in Congress that supported it, twisted arms for it, bribed for it, and rammed it down our throats absolutely refuse to sign a pledge to be required to be on it like regular citizens?

Another question; Why, now that we get to see the bill, we find out it will do the opposite as we were promised. Remember what Daddy Obama said; "This bill will lower healt cost". Funny how his own people just came out and said it will cost much more than we are paying now. Look at my post from last Fri..

Unintended consequences and God have one thing in common: Liberals don’t believe in either of them.

Of course it will raise costs. Only morons would think otherwise. Prior to the bill we had non-payers being subsidized by those of us who pay. Now they've added 30,000,000 more non-payers to the system. Also to be subsidized by those of us who pay.
Congress obviously will more than likely always get health care through the federal employees insurer.
I believe that's the point. They've set up a special system for themselves rather than subjecting themselves to what we, the people, are relegated to...
And, you can bet that Congress's health plan is not the same plan that Sally the Secretary in a federal office in Podunk, Oklahoma is on.
And, your statement that "Congress obviously..." is a part of the problem. If they are going to make us subject to some scheme, THEY ought to be subject to it as well.
Feinstein of California is now pushing a bill in the Senate that will force Insurance Companys to cap their premiums. They are still pushing the single payer option.

Single payer is their end-game. Capping premiums, without doing ANYTHING to control costs is going to drive private insurance companies out of business. Buncha low-life socialists. Every one of them...
Actually I have an intimate knowledge of the federal insurance plan workers and congressman are part of and my plan is 10x better and costs me less.
Keep in mind that I am talking about what the employer pays and comparing apples to apples.
IPC that is a great conspiracy to stick with, just like Liberals can hang their hat on the Republicans trying to do everything they can to create a 2 class society where only the Republicans will the "haves" and the others will be the "have nots" and incapable of ever getting out.
I personally think capping might drive actual (medical) insurance costs down a lot. For the past 50 years the medical industry has had free riegn to charge whatever they like and provide any procedure or drug to anyone they want. Who cared, no one was paying for it and the insurnace companies could just raise the rates every year and all was good. No one would ever pay for the stuff they get done out of their own pockets. Insurers and Medicare footed the bill. I know there were caps, but the escalation of those caps was sure more than any other costs in our economy.
Except the consumers continued to get screwed by rates going up 10x more than inflation. Now we have reached a point where the industry has now become a very major part of our economy due to the insanity of letting the foxes guard the sheep.
I'm in shock and awe--none of the resident supporters can give a straight, viable answer!
I'm not, however, the least bit surprised with will's reply. Of course he knows more than the rest of us about Congress' health plan, and of course his is 10 times better and cheaper. I'm sure his retirement plan is 20 times better and he's being paid extra just to sign up on it, and it will mature when he is 35. At that time he will draw 10 times his normal salary, plus expenses, then get bumped up to the "really good" healthcare plan from the "pretty good" one he is on now. That will be free of charge, of course.
I would ask more about it, but I make way too much money as it is. Federal Fire Marshalls have already threatened me with incarceration if I pile up my money burn piles any higher.
