Good post. I'am glad PBS has done some indepth research on this group. It is a relief to see that the memebership isn,t all that great of a threat to the country. The membership in the NRA in relationship to gun ownership in general would be a good indicator here, and such a distiction could be misleading, and construde by some that the data fits nicely into promoting one's agenda.
The birth of a new political party....I dont believe so, not just yet. We're just rebuilding the old motor to get a few more horses out of her for the next race.

I signed up in our state last year. I don't see it ever becoming a third party, I think they can do much more good supporting Constitutional Candidates in the two main parties. If any can be found that is. Becoming a third party will eventually pollute them to be just more of the same old crap.
