Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Well, I don't think the Obama statement is arrogance, and I don't think his statement is false. It is more complicated.

Obama is looking at the here and now. At the present, our taxes have not gone up. The Tea Party movement is looking towards the future: substantial tax increases are inherent in the increased Democratic spending -- a fifth grader could tell you that.

So, it isn't arrogance, it is rhetoric. Changing the point of focus. "Taxes? What taxes? We haven't raised taxes!!!! ((({[(<not yet!!!!! we're gonna wait until after the 2010 elections to raise taxes, we're not dummies!!!>)]})))."

I just question if it is arrogant or not due to the fact that Obama, and most everyone else knows what all the refunds were about. Throwing unbacked money out to sway votes. A one time deal that we will not see again under this administration. The arrogance I question is the arrogance of thinking one is smarter than everyone else and that us common folks are too dumb to understand that the tax break we got was not a break, but a loan.

The tea parties are not just about taxes (I compared mine, and they were a whopping $308 lower this year--- BFD)... They're about the mortgaging of our children's and grandchildren's future, this year alone to the tune of $1.75 Trillion, nearly four times the previous record debt... We see the taxes that will be needed in the future to pay this debt.

And, I'm tired of all these MORON lefties claiming that the GOP "inherited huge budget surpluses from Bill Clinton." What a load of moronic tripe. Anyone who believes that is too stupid to be allowed to vote. The national debt went UP, EVERY year during Clinton's administration. The deficit did get smaller, and approached a break even point, but, that was the doing of the Republicans (Gingrich) controlling the purse strings in the House of Representatives.

I too get sick of the Clinton fund Bush got. If the libs remember, A recession was on its way as Clinton was still in office. Besides, its easy to have a balanced budget when you have the opposition cutting your purse strings. Also, when you gut the military, that frees up a lot of money. To bad that move didnt help us out on 9-11

That reads like Obama is parsing his words, kind of like Clinton used to do. The Tea Party people are upset about the overspending, Obamacare and they know that under Obamacare, people making a lot less than $250K WILL pay more in healthcare costs. They also know (like IPSC said) that they and their kids and grandkids will be on the hook to pay off all of this money Obama is blowing with his overspending. Whether it's a tax, fee, cost, etc., if Obama causes it to go up, we have less money to spend. That infuriates the Tea Party people too. So I think arrogance could be a good word to describe Obama in this article. I think you could also reasonably infer that Obama is not trying to do the will of the majority of people, just his own wrongful belief about how to do things.
