Default 2008 out of wedlock births?

What would you think the percentage of out of wedlock births was for 2008?

How much do you think it will cost us taxpayers to raise those kids until they are 18?

It is not my intention to hijack your thread. i know the figure but will not put it here.

i'm glad that you brought this up. It is a sore subject with me. It is also something that the mainstream media seldom talks about because it ain't exactly PC to talk about girls as young as 12 having kids.

i paid enough in taxes this year to raise a couple of out of wedlock kids to child bearing age-the cycle never ends.

Out of wedlock births dwarfs what it is costing us to fight both wars. It's fricking unreal. To raise those little brats born in 2008 until thay are 18 will cost us 300 billion dollars. What's worst, it will just to continue to perpetuate this cycle in America. Let's also throw in that the overwhelming majority of those in prison come from unwed mothers.

Enough is enough, we need to cut off the welfare for raising these kids. Let's enforce child neglect laws and if it takes seperating child from mother so be it. Let's end this cycle.

There is another part of this out of wedlock child explosion that you seldom hear about. There are young guys out there who have fathered 5-10 or more kids by young girls. They commit statutory rape and even rape and they get away with it because it ain't PC to talk about it.

It is time that the governmant forces the fathers of these kids to pony up. Put them out on a county run rock pile and get some work out of them.

Absolutely, they are part of this child neglect law. It's time to go after them and lock them up if it's the only way to keep their pecker in their pants.

While I agree that a solution is needed, incarcerating the fathers won't help support the kids since it falls to the state regardless. Monitored work release would be a better compliance tool, particularly with ankle jewelry.

I look in dismay when I hear guys paying child support, many of them deadbeat dads, complaining about how little it leaves them to live on. My response to that is "Man up, kids are the screwing you get for the screwing you got. A 50 cent rubber would've prevented it from happening. so quit whining and support your kids."

So you want to pay for the children and the fathers?

How many abortions you think that would add to the ones already being performed.

Welfare = child neglect? Who pays for the child after you take it from Mom?

Whats the rate of people in prison that were in foster care?

Now that's a well thought out plan so now we are going to add another $25,000 - $30,000 a year for keeping dad in prison and pay for the foster care.

I don't even know where to start, but one thought keeps coming to mind. Weren't you the one who commented on being divorced and not having this much sex since being a boy scout leader?

that's like that show "16 and pregnant" on MTV, drives me crazy how dumb these kids are.

Almost everyone of these kids claims it was an "accident". I don't consider getting pregnant an accident when you completely avoid all of the options to prevent getting pregnant in the first place.

Reducing the # of kids it pays to have more of from welfare from 6 being the max/most payout to a lesser number would help too. I occasionally see on the news about so and so and her 6 kids..., or someone else and their 6 kids...kinda funny how they all have 6 kids, not 3....not 7...but 6.....wonder why??
