Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Obama calls out rush & beck

In an interview with Harry Smith on CBS' "Early Show" Friday morning, President Obama called out Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh as purveyors of "vitriol" - creating a climate in which he's called a "socialist" and even a "Nazi."

Smith asked the president if he was "aware of the level of enmity that crosses the airwaves and that people have made part of their daily conversation about you." Obama replied, "When you've listened to Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck it's pretty apparent." The rancor is "troublesome," he said, but he acknowledged it's also a recurring phenomenon.

"Keep in mind that there have been periods in American history where this kind of - this kind of vitriol comes out," he said. "It happens often when you've got an economy that is making people more anxious and people are feeling that there's a lot of change that needs to take place. But that's not the vast majority of Americans."

Walking with Smith on the grounds of the White House, the president said that he is "concerned about a political climate in which the other side is demonized" and that "everybody has a responsibility, Democrats or Republicans, to tone down some of this rhetoric." What's different about today, Obama suggested, is the way overheated rhetoric has moved into the mainstream.

"It used to be that somebody who said something crazy, they might be saying it to their next-door neighbor, or it might be on some, you know, late-night AM station at the very end of the radio dial."

Asked by Smith if the name-calling bothers him, Obama replied that all presidents develop a "pretty thick skin." Still, he added that he hopes that Americans will start to lose their taste for vitriol.

"I do think that there is a tone and tenor that needs to change, where we can disagree without being disagreeable or making wild accusations about the other side. And I think that's what most Americans would like to see, as well."

It won't be long before he passes a law that you can't say anything about the president. He can't handle the truth and doesn't realize the American people aren't as stupid as the rest of the wacky liberals.

I has already taken us well past socialism, he is, for a general purposes, a dictator who will pass his agenda by any means necessary regardless of what little remains of the constitution. They will cange the laws, use outfits like the EPA to pass stuff that they know the people will not stand for or pass by legal means, the fox is in the hen house.

Hmmm things don't just happen.

One step at a time. How many are taken with the peoples approval because the particular people involved are seen as less than worthy? Always the case. This started long ago, what's starting today that people are giving a pass too that are kids will have to deal with?

Ignorance is bliss until the bill comes due. Prosperity is a tough thing to live with.

Obama is a typical liberal. Freedom of speech means, freedom for liberals, and if you do not agree, shut up or they will shut you up.

When has a president ever been so imature? Could you imagine if Bush would have told CNN or MSNBC they were not welcome in the White House, then call out Oberman or Mathews later down the road.

Well Barak's hero Hugo Chavez just jailed a judge who disagreed with him, can the liberal/progressive recriminations be far behind? I've heard both Rush and Beck refer to the type of government policies Obama espouses as "Fascist, not socialist" but that's merely fact, not vitriol. Living in the liberal capitol of the wold, I agree with Burniegoeasily, as long as you don't disagree with the liberal party line you're good to go.
