Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

I'm sure plenty people here will get a kick out of this since it regurgitates most of the gripes the right wingers have against Obama. What makes me laugh the most is how many right wingers think that a staunch conservative will be a shoe in in the next presidential election. I've got news for them. Maybe Obama WILL get voted out, but I will bet anyone any money that he won't lose to a staunch conservative. Plenty of people out there who don't like what Obama is doing, along with many who do. The ones with mixed opinions of him are not likely to vote in a staunch right winger to replace Obama, this I can assure anyone here. Just not enough staunch conservative thinkers out there to get someone like that elected in a national election anymore. This is the reality out there whether people here care to accept it or not.

I agree with Steve, unless they can find another Reagan the right wing won't prevail. At best we'll get some centrist fence straddler, probably an independant.

I would like someone to point me to a conservative out there today that could even come close to having the appeal that Reagan had? In 1984 Reagan won 49 out of 50 states. Even NY, Mass, CT voted for him. Have these states ever had a shred of conservative ideology?? NO! It was his personality that made him popular WAY more than his conservative thinking did, or else such states would have NEVER voted for him.
There is NO conservative alive today that could have such appeal across the political spectrum. Sorry, but the truth can hurt. A republican just may get elected the next time out since we pretty much have only two parties to pick from, but it WON'T be a staunch conservative that is for darned sure.

Reagan had the Carter factor. If there is a Republican out there, that has a core conservative value, i think the Obama factor will push him into a victory.

I don't know about you,but at this point a centrist fence straddler would be a hell of an improvment over the radical left wing MARXIST we have now!!!
Any rightward movement would be an improvment!

It takes a Carter,to get a Reagan.
And just maybe it will take an Obama,to get a Jefferson!

That aint for sure, but there are no Reagans today that are involved in politics.

As long as you guys put so much faith, hope, and trust in politicians and the government things will not change, only progress in the direction it's going. Very very unconservative. Very non Reagan. You guys want government, you need government.

Don't know about you, but most here wouldn't like Jefferson, at least the real one. They like the one they've made up in their minds like most of the country, no matter what party.

Nope. Obama is not Carter in the least except they were both Dems. Carter was a do nothing and interest rates were very high. Need I go on?
