I find the story odd. Why are the protesters labeled as anti gay and what are they doing at a funeral of a marine who died?
Why no details of how the court came to it's decision? I thought I read the SC wasn't going to hear the case.
Nice of Bill to pay the cost.
Sounds like the first court denied freedom of speech all be it very inappropriate and the second court upheld the freedoms the marine died for. Freedom must be allowed mistakes. I only say that because people simply do not understand what that means. These protesters must be allowed to do what they did as long as they don't infringe on others rights to be just as free. RIP marine, job accomplished.
The cost stinks, why isn't the first court being made to pay for their mistake? That's the real stick in that marines eye. The court eared and should have never allowed the costs to rise as they did because of their poor judgment. If the SC does hear it I hope they right that wrong and make a ruling that puts pressure on lower courts to take responsibility for their poor judgments. Even the second court if they find they eared.
A good lesson for people to learn on why that old custom, never speak ill of the dead was a good one. Few honor it today and they always sound just as crass. I remember some mother who lost a son protested during Bush's term. She also didn't receive the respect she deserved for paying the ulitmate price. Funny, the date of this case was at the same time I think.
