So, out of the 10 questions which if not all, are you folks going to answer. Right now, unless someone could offer a logical reason to answer all of them, I plan to only answer question #1. Is there any reason why the government needs more information than this?

They need to know your DOB and your age...................'cause they ain't smart enough to do the math!!!! But yet we're suppose to beleive that they can "fix" health care for the better!!!!!!

A government big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take away everything you have.
It's, basically, name, birth date, age, sex, type of dwelling (single family, apt., etc.), of each person in the residence, nationality, and relationship to the primary reporting person, and a phone number in case they can't figure out your answers.
I didn't give them my phone number, because, I figured if they were too stupid to figure out the meaning of my answers to those questions, then it wouldn't do much good talking to them...
Some people will get the American Community Survey instead of the Census, which has a lot of additional questions.

ips: so you answered everything else? Do you think the information they are requesting is relevant to the role of the federal government?
Initially, I was only going to answer how many people live in my household. After thinking about it, I can see how age and sex data could be useful as well. I’m still not sure about names or race though. Do you know of any reasons why this information should be supplied to the government (not that any given government agency couldn’t find the information anyway)?

I figured they probably already have most of the info anyway via our tax returns from the last 35 years. Not sure what harm it might cause to say I'm a male and my wife is a female, and my son is a male, etc. If I had received the American Community Survey instead of the census form, there likely would have been additional questions I would not have answered, such as when they ask about what time of day you leave for work. Not sure why some SEIU or ACORN guy would need that info from me when they're coming around to "help" with the survey.
I've read that there may be a $100 fine for not answering questions. Yes, I understand that the Constitution only dictates a census of the number of people in each household, but, there are hundreds of thousands of pages of laws on the books that are not expressly in the Constitution, but, you're still supposed to obey them...

^^As a math teacher, who is on the receiving end of a lot of pressure from the government, this bothers me most.
I am slightly perterbed about the marketing of it too... only ten questions, takes no time at all...
Well, it is actually ten questions per person. Kind of a hassle.
