He's got about a thousand more serious charges pending. It'll be interesting to see if this slap on the wrist is an attempt to bury the other transgressions.

Yep, another putrid congressman is guilty of an "ethics" violation, whatever that is. Congressional "ethics" is an oxymoron.
A few congressional criminals have gone to jail in the past few years: Refrigerator Jefferson, Dirty Duke Cunningham and Freedom Fries Nye come to mind.

I just question why Rangel is getting brought up on these little ethics charges when he has pending crimial actions that are ignored. If I stole from my employer and refused to pay my taxes, im sure the government would not ignore me as long as they have Rangle.

Because it is always that way in congress. They never throw anyone out of congress. Whenever a member of congress is charged with a serious crime the pukes on both sides of the aisle come to his defense.
Look at Traficant, that little pedophile Foley and Rostenkowski. Rostenkawski was the head of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee: Clinton and Reno delayed charging the scumbag until the Brady bill and the AWB passed the House.
