Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default toyota Recalls

Are any of you guys paying attention to this. Doesn't it appear our lawmakers are draggin these guys over the coals a bit?

I mean I was in a class action lawsuit with Harley Davidson over a possible deadly defect, and all HD was pressured to do was put out an extended warranty. Over 20,000 people signed petitions to make HD fix the cam bearings that could get someone killed, and did hurt a few, but goverment turned a deaf ear.

Let me tell ya HD's defect. On 99-00 twinkies, they had ball bearing on the cams. They would come apart and be sucked up the oil pump and lock the motor cold. Some riders would hear the ruckus happening but would try to ride thier bikes home and would lock the motor up. Anyone ever been in a curve with a 800lb HD and have the power go out?

Guess they got to prop up goverment motors.

Guess they forget all those people in the US that would be laid off due to this who work for toyota.

200,000 Americans are employed because of Toyota. If I was Mr.Toyoda I would have told congress to go pound sand! Toyota is handling the problem the best way they see fit, what does going in front of congress accomplish? I say its also just a small conflict of interest...

2 things to remember here..... Mostly Dem lawmakers raising the most hell. Dems=in unions pockets. Toyota=nonunion AND proftable. Not to mention gov and union owning 2 direct competitors. Its definitely a conflict of interest dog and pony show.

When you compare the actual numbers that had any issue compared to the numbers that are being recalled, it doesn't add up.

Let's just say for the sake of argument the government/unions are not putting the squeeze on their competition. Even if this is a real problem, the government's motives are in question. Toyota is in a tough position, because what are they supposed to do. Tell the government to screw off, and face even more tyranny.

This proves my point that unions cannot compete, do not want to compete, and are the real scabs when it comes to the real world. They have destroyed the viability of most everything they are involved in. GM, California, Michigan, and now the United States of America with government employees, and the SEIU.

I've been a Buick man since I was about 20 years old, and right now I am driving the last GM car I will ever drive.

Most of the DC political hacks who are raising hades are Democrats, but not all of them. Today i watched while that Mica (R) hack went into his insane rant. Today i also took my wifes 09 Camry in for its fix.

I worked for Toyota for 5 years and now I currently work for Ford. I don't remember all this hype when Ford was having all the issues with the S.U.V.'s rolling over and I damn sure don't remember any foreign automaker publicly bashing Ford. I will say one thing... so far it's been pretty hush about Toyota at this facility and even the union hasn't said much. I'm an outcast here anyways being a non-union, salary employee from a foreign automaker.

I see one thing happening only and you guys have touched on it. Our country owns just about every domestic automaker and they are making sure they can do their best to snuff out the competition. Just wait until you see the marketing that Obama and his "car czar" will make out of this.

But now this crap will come back to bite em. Wait until GM or Ford puts out a death trap. Lots of attention will be on them.

Oh, I remember the trashing Ford went through and in the end it was due to the tire company. However, I listened to Rush's show this morning and he has a good point. Is this really how we want to treat the CEO of one of the top companies for the largest country, ***an that is our biggest lender?
