Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Something that some don't take seriously

I don't like more government intrusion in people's lives. However, because I have witnessed this problem in some hunting camps over the years.....this one has merit. The sad thing is that some hunters have to be told these things. For various reasons, we have hunters killed in my state every year. But none of us should have to worry about a fellow hunter carrying a firearm under these conditions. Those who hunt on public lands just don't know who might be out there. Seriousness and caution are the responsibility of all of us. Otherwise, the "anti's" just have more fuel.

I could get behind that law. IMO booze does not mix with Guns, Boats, motor Cycles or autos.

Be fore the DWI laws got so strict here, this was a real problem, Hunters driving around hunting because they were to drunk to walk. Some of the hard party guys are still drunk after a nights party a hunting camp. When I guided hunters and fisherman, I didn't allow one drop of any kind of booze in Camp. If they didn't like that, they could get a different guide and camp. That does not fly with me.

Yeah one drink at night after the hunt, What could that hurt, well Nothing, but it to often does not stop there.

As far as I'm concerned, the number ought to be .01 rather than .08. If you've had one drink, you shouldn't be driving or carrying a gun.

See what I mean, when one person takes advantage of another government grows. Given the size of our government we are some real pieces of work.

Theres a time to drink one and theres a time to leave it alone. I love a couple of brews after a good successful hunt... however. theres no room for guns and alcohol in the woods together. I have a hard enough time shooting straigh when Im sober...

One does have effects on the brain( including thought prossesses) as well as the body( how much depends) But drinking such substances that have such effects - makes having 2 that much easyier.
And so on..

Look at it this way, if a dog is always running away putting a chain on him isn't going to change his behavior. The dog needs to be doing something positive. Having a law is nothing more that a chain and isn't the answer.

Laws should be the last resort because they chip away at freedom. It needs to be worth the hit, this isn't because other answers are available.

That chain is already heavy enough, but if people continue to abuse each other it has no other direction to go but heavier.

Did ya read any of the comments? A law like this is just making the crack in the liberty bell bigger. Pretty soon someone who ate some sugar will fall under the law.

Freedom demands mistakes be allowed and some of you have thought all that statement had to do with was money, (free to make as much money as you can roiling over any to do it) not hardly. You have to be willing to live with a person who's been drinking and carries. For all our high talk about how we hate government, we sure do like to turn to it easy enough.

A few mistakes is ok if you are not the one tht got killed by a drunk hunter. The part about the chain is true enough. If everyone accepted responsibility for their action, we would need no laws at all, of any kind. Ain't going to happen. I don't know about where you live but when they started giving much more than a slap on the wrist for DUI's around here, they went down like a rock. Do some still do it? Yes but the average is way down and that saves lives.

Even in the beginning of our nation, we were a nation of laws, That is how we got where we are now, or were until lately.

If it were legal, some fool would set up targets in the alley ways at the Mall so they would have a indoor range. NO LAWS????
