Certainly the Republicans during the Bush years were fiscally irresponsible. But within historical bounds.
The author of that piece makes a classical mistake. This statement would have been true if the author had said recent historical bounds. It is not true when the deficits of the 40s-70s are included. In constant (FY 2000) dollars, the highest deficits were during WWII. After WWII the deficits dropped dramatically until the mid 70s and then went sky high during the 80s. Keeping in mind that the FY 2009 budget was drawn up before the economy tanked, take a look at the projected deficit figures for 2009-2013.
See Table 1-3.

The deficits in Obama's budget are beyond historical bounds and are his alone

BS, the descresionary bills weren't passed until after Obama took office because Bush got them to 0% increases. Then Obama and company increased them 15%.
The real issue we face are entitlements. 2.4 Trillion of government spending is on autopilot. Until they are cut in half, we are screwed. Finally, I heard a Republican last week talking about taking them on and begin to means test people. However, the only way I will sign on to that is if those who are under 40 are allowed to op out.

I dont think he is Stealthy. I just use the phrase "stealthy" figuratively since most of us know how stealthy use to pull stuff like this. Will does not follow Stealthy's M.O.. None the less, he is a troll all the same. I do have to hand it to him, he keeps this board going. There is only so much derogatory things I can drum up about Obama for affect.

I know you didn't mean it this way but I have never thought of stealthy as a troll. Unique, principled, passionate about what he believes and a good hunter, yes. A troll, no. JMHO here.

Total BS back at you. The budget at the link is the Bush budget that was drawn up by your gods in the white house. No, it is not the budget that was finally agreed upon. It seems like the perps in the Bush white house painted a very rosy deficit projection for the upcoming years.

I guess pot stirred would be a better adjective. I personally got a kick out of Stealthy when he use to argue with himself under different user names.
