America's Freedom Disappearing

Votes do matter. We the people need to look at their elected official's record. If they are not doing their job to improve our country and protect our freedom and rights.
Vote them out of office.

Amen to that! I work as an precinct official during election years. It's a sad state of affairs when one compares the number of people who voice their opinions about politicans, and the usual low voter turnout.

What really makes me mad is folks who stand around and complain constantly and when you ask them who they voted for they say.. "oh I dont vote" That usually gets an instant "well stfu" then..lol.

You can feel it. The constituion has been challenged more times in the past 10 years than ever before.

Just like the terrorist vote in NY. For the sake of i don't know what they are trying to stop the fair trial of a criminal. I know all of the facts and sides to the story, but how long will it be until the military can take you into custody and not try to for anything.

Think of the impact it could have on guys that love to own lots of guns and ammo. Unless we force there to be a trial and you are convicted the military and Bas&&*rds like Cheney can put you in Jail and never let you out.

Be careful what you wish for. This instance will set precedence that will come back and backfire on many in this country.

Oh yes, I can see where youre coming from...
We should definately have a nice jury trial for all those that attack our country. They should also have access to 3 meals a day, TV, phone calls, mail and all the other nice things that go along with the US prison system. Meanwhile, my friends that have been killed in foreign countries lay in the ground rotting while their families mourn.

Heres another idea for you. How about we have a trial before we shoot back at the enemy in Afghanistan or Iraq...they deserve a fair trial afterall.

I did look into their voting records, and many other things, that's why I didn't vote for Obama. The problem is that with our stilted, antiquated two party system you don't have a choice other than the lesser evil.

Once a person is determined to be a Enemy Combatant, they have no right to a trial in a civilian court or to have the rights granted to American citizens. However anyone who fights against our country deserves the same treatment. Military trials. I wish Cheney was president instead of this mess we have now.

I want no way no how for any gov't of ours to think they have the power to simply classify me as an enemy combatant if they don't like what I am possibly doing without a fair trial. 20 guys attacked our country on a horrible day in our history. Let's not let it change what the founding fathers and our soldiers have fought for for the past 250 years.

All American citizens are tried in American courts, period. Your asinine assumption that an American citizen could be halled off and tried as an enemy combatant simply proves your lack of knowledge and simple understanding of what our constituion affords us. Timothy McVeigh was a citizen of the U.S.A. so there for was afforded such rights. When you are not a citizen, you should not be afforded our rights. That would really screw up a war. Having to pro bono thousands up on thousands of lawyers to try other nationals as citizens. By your own omission, you would have tried all ***anese prisoners as American citizens during WW2.
