Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

this county's politics are a darn shame when you have to go through the loopholes to get your agenda passed.

wikipedia definition of reconciliation as it refers to the legislative process-Reconciliation is a legislative process in the United States Senate intended to allow consideration of a contentious budget bill without the threat of filibuster. Introduced in 1974, reconciliation limits debate and amendment, and therefore favors the majority party

i guess its not technically a loophole, but its not the channel that this legislation should go through. It has become obvious, in my opinion, that America no longer wants healthcare reform, in the form it is now at least.

If they go that route, that will bury them! There won't be a democrap that will get elected to dog catcher, and that wouldn't hurt my feeling one bit!

I dont know, I have a tendency to believe that america is awful shortsighted and have a severe case of short term memory loss. I mean, a lot of americans were all for the healthcare reform a few months ago, and now, luckily, many are violently against it and big government. and the last war/conflict we were in that was REALLY supported was WWII, IMO, at least in my small time studying this centuries politics. And with all the support for increased gov't benefits and such, this country's children (aka me at 18 years old) arent gonna have a bank to take loans from, or more accurately, America's financial system isnt going to have money to lend out. I mean, eventually a Congress will have to decide to NOT increast the debt limit, as they just did to 14.3 trillion I believe. Some call me a pessimist, i call myself an independent conservative realist.

Zeke I agree with you on most of that. The thing to remember.. most Americans are actually for REAL healthcare reform. However the dems took that as an excuse to nationalize it and take it over as a huge power grab and when the people seen their intentions its support went straight to the toilet.

At age 18 you seem to be a very smart kid with a good grasp of what is actually going on. Its easy to get depressed about the deal but remember.. yours will have to be the generation to turn it around if it can be changed. Its pretty obvious that the current ones have no grasp of what they are even doing let alone motivation to stop.

Doe got that right. Remember this whole debacle started out as a plan to cover a disputed number of uninsured people. You haven't heard that reason for quite some time and the Dems seized on the issue to push socialized medicine, a cause they've been trying to implement for as many years as I've been around. If Congress had merely pre-empted the issue and allowed the states to shop across state lines for insurance and took on the trial lawyers on tort reform they might have made it. There were two red flags, 1) was a 2000+ page bill just appeared. It had to have already been prepared and held for the right time. 2) The Dems tried to jam it through without letting people read it and when the details began to leak out the truth of the matter scared the hell out of people, especially seniors. You would have a VERY hard time selling European socialism, or statism or progressivism to Americans if you tell them the truth.
