Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

It's interesting that this happened so soon after the PRK announced that they'd like to increase tourism. WTH! Either they're looking for more kidnap victims or people to arrest on false pre-tenses, or they're trying to look nice.

You can rest assured, that whenever they try to play nice for the eyes of the west (or U.S.) they've got something up their sleeve. All food aid goes to their military. Anything else is just for show.

More missles or showing off their might for the new leader's internal PR.

North Korea has some points to recommend it from point of view of tourism. It may be the last place on earth where old-school communism -- early cold war style -- still exists on a large scale! Think about it. Package deal 1: you and our special other can spend a week in a work commune near Choson Reservoir harvesting Ginsung: your food tab will be nothing, because you will only be allowed to eat what you can grub up for yourself! Carefull! Stealing and eating your comrade's wooly worm will earn you a severe flogging of the feet at the "bench of shame!" Package deal 2: you can join the rest of your tour group prostrating yourself before and licking the boot of Dear Leader in an exclusive 1-on-10000 adulating zombie meeting. Package deal 3: you can shoulder a vintage 1953 Kalashnikov and don one of those funky insulated caps and stand post on the northern edge of the DMZ. Shoot your weapon at butterflies wafting over the DMZ and say you were reeducating a running dog imperialist lackey of the rebellious southern forces.

In all seriousness, how soon will North Korea and South Korea be reunited? I'm 53 years old. I'm guessing well within my lifetime. Maybe within the next 10 years. North Korea has a hard time sustaining itself. If Dear Leader did not get internal support by getting the rest of the world excited from time to time -- if the rest of the world just TOTALLY IGNORED N KOREA -- his regime, I think, would soon collapse of its own putrid weight. This regime encourages its people to practice the virtue of eating twigs and tree bark as spring time rolls around because they can't produce enough surplus agricultural product to keep everyone fed until the earliest next year's crop. Really pathetic.

Don't know much about, enjoyed your take on it. Why are you so tuned into it?
