I think it must be something similar to the stuff that goes on around the Bermuda triangle. Once you get south of the Mason Dixon line, the quality of life declines sharply. We have finer schools, better hunting dogs, bigger deer, more wild turkeys, better fishing, and bluer skies. We have better hockey teams, more baseball and basketball championship winners and waaaaaay better football teams.
Of course all of the above pales in comparison to the importance of good bbq and we bury you guys.
