Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default I hope all these dems get what they deserve

Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson, who has faced a heap of criticism for appearing to trade his vote on health care for millions in federal Medicaid money, said he’s considering asking that the Nebraska deal be stripped from the bill. But he said other senators are looking for special treatment in light of his success.
Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson, after securing a sweetheart deal for his state as part of the health insurance reform bill, said Tuesday that three other senators have told him they want to bargain for the same kind of special treatment.

“Three senators came up to me just now on the (Senate) floor, and said, ‘Now we understand what you did. We’ll be seeking this funding too’,” Nelson said.
But the Democratic senator, who has faced a heap of criticism for appearing to trade his vote on health care for millions in federal Medicaid money, said he’s considering asking that the Nebraska deal be stripped from the bill.
Though he defended the exemption as a “fair deal,” he said he never asked for the full federal funding that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid ended up granting his state. Nelson said he instead asked that states be allowed to refuse an expansion of Medicaid.
“This is the way Senate leadership chose to handle it. I never asked for 100 percent funding,” he said.

This will go down in history as the epitome of arrogance in leadership, which developed in the late 20th century and continued onward from there.

Unfortunately, there are so many examples to epitomize that arrogance on both sides of the aisle that this will be but one page in the encyclopedia of American Government Arrogance.

Old Ben screwed the goose on this one. Before he sold his vote his popularity in Nebraska was over 70% but since he went Judas his popularity has dropped over 25% and falling. Really hilarious how he has tv ads on all the time now trying to explain himself and he isnt even up for re-election till 2012. Think he sees the writing on the wall.

I sincerely hope that everyone who voted for the health care bill that passed, is defeated in their next run. I know that is wishful thinking, but they deserve it. That bill was one of the worst bills ever written, there were buy offs and bribes and all kinds of other dirty tricks involved and IMO was not constitutional or even close to it.

X2. James B has it right. I also hope Nebraska recalls Nelson instead of waiting until 2012 to vote him out.

Yep, i hope that Ben Nelson gets beat in 2012 or, preferably, recalled before 2012. Hope that all of the political pukes on capitol hill get run out of the US congress. The only things those senators and representatives care about is party loyalty and their owners-the lobbyists. What the folks back home want does not matter.
