Default Taxes going up. Just got the word.

Yep, just got my W-2 and in the envelope was a note explaining that;;
"Due to new tax tables-the withholding has increased pretty much across the board- most checks will show a decrease of approx $ XXX.XX due to the additional income tax withheld.

I'm not going to assume, so I'll just ask.
Is your salary more than $250,000 a year?

You don't need to be earning $250,000 for your pay to be affected this year. Most everyone will paying higher federal taxes and most people will see a slight decrease in take home pay. It's funny how these new tax rates were snuck into everyone paycheck with very little fanfare.

Come on now everyone knows that His Highness, the Mighty King Obama has promised a tax cut for the little guy. But then again his lips were moving so we all know it is a lie. Just like just about everything else he says. November can't get here soon enough.

But we were promised that us poor slobs were going to get a tax cut. We were even promised one as part of the stimulus plan.

Isn't the increase because the Bush tax cuts were allowed to expire?

It must have started before this year then, because my refund last year was nearly 30% less than what I had been getting in previous years. Did a tax cut expire or something?

True, but letting them expire means increased taxes. Just as I pointed out long before the election. Something I pointed out when the libs were telling me my taxes would go down under Obama. Either way, it means higher taxes.
