Death row inmate Mumia abu Jamal is a celebrity cause. An appeals court ruled that abu Jamal was entitled to a new sentencing hearing. SCOTUS reversed that decision today.
Washington (CNN) -- The Supreme Court has tossed out a lower court ruling that nullified the death sentence for former Black Panther Mumia Abu-Jamal, who was convicted of gunning down a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, police officer more than 28 years ago.
If he had been white and convicted by a predominantly black jury the SCOTUS would never have heard his case, and certainly not on racial misconduct grounds. This POS probably would've pulled the race card if the whole jury had been black.

Yeah... I can see it now. (Invoking Harry Reed...)
Racism! Racism! There was nothing but light-skinned blacks on my jury! I was unfairly convicted!!![/sarcasm]
This case beautifully illustrates one of the failures of our justice system. This gentleman should have been underground rotting away for the past 28 years. This is not justice.

Interesting thought. I have for years believed that freedom demands mistakes be allowed. If freedom is the reason for this "failure" I got to feel better about the future.
Having it your way, right or wrong, wouldn't give me hope.

This had nothing to do with freedom. Jamal was found at the scene with the murder weapon and one of Officer Faulkner's bullets in his worthless butt. The only thing that has kept this slug alive was politics and pressure from the worthless liberal Hollywood types. The 3rd Circuit affirmed his conviction they just ruled he was entitled to a new penalty hearing due to improper jury instructions. The SCOTUS overturned the decision and remanded the case, so it's not over yet.
I hope all the Hollylunies get a front row seat to the barbecue. He confessed up until HollyWood showed an interest then he recanted his story. I say let the officers widow pull the trigger.
