Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

One question and I am not trying to be a artsmass because I really don't know. How is he going to be able to force them to do this since they have majority in both houses?

Does this idiot DeMint not realize that the Congress does not determine whether a law is constitutional or not, only the Supreme Court can do that.

You might want to rethink your post for it as there is a way it is done , Here is the quote from one source discussing this
Quote:
I don't believe Congress has the legal or moral authority to force this mandate on its citizens," Ensign said in a statement, raising what's known as a "constitutional point of order." Such procedural challenges are rare and typically lead to a vote.

Interesting stuff.

That isn't the only interesting question that has come up in the last few days either.

Allowing one insurance company to skate out of a tax all others will be forced to pay as a reward arranged by a certain rep in trade for his vote?

Can you spell corruption?

Can you spell bribery.... Why the hell are these idiots not being impeached?
It can't be any more cut and dry on what the punishment for bribery in congress is.

I know why.... this is a rhetorical venting question.

Damn it this **** pisses me off to no end. The house is solely responsible for impeachment proceedings and the senate to try convictions. Nothing will ever change if they are untouchable.

The saddest thing is that, even if we were to elect a solid Republican maojority and a committed Republican president, they would not have the guts to repeal this "health care reform" mess.

Your Republican politicians are too sheepish

If this piece of crap bill it allowed to proceed, then the constitution truely is dead. The deals made to to pass this thing breaks about every rule in the bill of rights. It has to get to a guy when the Senate leader bribes other members with OUR MONEY.

there is language in the bill (I have heard, but cannot corroborate) that will disallow repeal or major modification by future congresses. If this is not a threat to 'a free state', I don't know what is.

All bills are reviewed for constitutionality before they are presented, but I do not see how the current cadre of thugs could have done this check and still presented the mandates, bribes, exceptions and deals as part of this bill and still passed muster. I believe that :
a: the bill will pass with a purely partisan vote in the Senate
b: Pelosi will instruct house democrats to vote for the bill as it is
presented from the Senate.
c: the Senate bill will be the bill passed, in it's entirety and
Komrade Obama will sign it into law.
d: The U.S. Supreme Court will declare the bill unconstitutional in it's
entirety in response to insurance industry lawsuits.

I hope....
