The president is responsible for a lot of things, and he has to keep all these balls in the air -- without dropping one -- at the same time. I do not blame him for applying himself to his foreign affairs duties. I think your comment is a cheap shot or at least not a focused and well articulated criticism.
What you can criticize him for, perhaps, is (1) why so many foreign trips?, (2) what are your foreign policy goals and how are you acting to achieve them? (isn't there some sort of maxim that if you don't know where you are going you aren't liable to get there?), and (3) what are your foreign policy principles? Maybe Charles Gibson ought to ask the Vice President to state "the Obama Doctrine" as he so famously asked Sarah Palin to state "the Bush Doctrine." I imagine Biden might fairly reply "Doctrine?!!! You gotta' be kiddin' me! Like you think there is some underlying principled and coherent foundation under the MAN's foreign utterances, statements, appearances? Ha!"
I have thus far not observed any coherent, unifying theme to Obama's presidency and/or policies and/or public utterances. He does seem to think the government can cure all ills and should actively exert itself to cure all ills and has infiinite resources. But aside from this I discern no coherent world view or strategy or agenda. Maybe I'm jez a dumba$$.
