You must be wrong Burnie, the anointed one said it wouldn't go above 8 percent if he got his porkulus bill past right away. Bush probably did it.

that number is a 'value in transition'. If dame pig pelosi gets her socialized medicine bill passed this week, that number will jump substantially. I've not heard (nor do I expect to hear from major media) the 200+ page Republican medical coverage bill being proposed...seems like that should be more popular just by it's succinctness by a factor of 10.

I don't think the unemployment rate has topped out yet. I'll bet it gets above 11% and maybe higher,, so what's the answer, another stimulas/porkulas bill jammed down our throats in the near future. Spend baby spend, must do it quickly before the mid term election changes the winds on the hill.
