Yep, the NY City hero of 911 is a crooked cop. He copped a plea to avoid trial for perjury and income tax evasion. I hope the judge gives him 20 years in Attica.
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik pleaded guilty Thursday to lying to the White House and tax crimes in a deal that could send him to prison for about 2 1/2 years.
Kerik, who was police commissioner when New York was attacked on 9/11, won glowing reviews for his leadership. He eventually was nominated for the Homeland Security post in 2004 but withdrew as corruption allegations mounted. The lies to the White House occurred during that vetting process.
"Guilty," he said eight times in a firm voice as he appeared in the suburban courtroom.

Robinson warned Kerik that the maximum sentence for the counts to which he was pleading was 61 years in prison; the judge said he was not bound by the terms of the plea agreement.
Kerik said he understood and told the judge he was giving up his right to appeal. He also agreed to pay about $188,000 in restitution.
I know ya hate cops, but 20 years for tax evasion and lying?
Kerik betrayed the public trust. Kerik was taking bribes while he was in a cop uniform talking his law and order pap. A crooked cop is the worse kind of hypocritic scumbag.
Bribes? having some work done in your apt in return for employment? oh wow, what a "hypocrite scumbag" yeah thats much worse than the union leg breakers who make people disappear cause they dont hire or buy from the "right people", you obviously havent spent much time in the big rotten apple, but "favors" are a way of life there, and if every person who did/got "favors" was sent to jail, there wouldnt be too many people out of jail. Kerik is a good man and a hero , who unfortunatly is the victim of a witch hunt and some bad circumstances,either way hes done alot more good in his life than most people, including you, will ever do. I guess youve never broken the law or made a bad decision though huh? gimme a break!

Oh I dont know, I was thinking more along the lines of murder, rape, robbery,extortion,assault, drug dealing,car jacking,bombing,gangbanging,arson,vandalism, etc... but cheating on your taxes(along w/ our current treasury sec. and congressmen) ,lying(oh dear!) and ALLEDGEDLY(he denies the bribery charges) getting some home improvments in exchange for a city contract, well thats a little lower on the scumbag meter. I guess you wouldnt understand though ,its not like theres any felons, or crooks in OK huh?

Kerik just copped a plea to eight felony counts. Maybe he decided to cut his losses. Kerik would have been much better off if he had not lied to the white house. When a prospective political appointee lies to the white house about his shady past and gets caught the residents of the white house get pretty mad. In this case they sicked the feds on Kerik.
Still waiting for you to tell me what he did to deserve 20 days, much less years in prison, but I dont think Ill hold my breath. Theres guys in vermont getting off w/ little or no jail time at all, for raping infants, and youre outraged about a cop lying(*gasp*) and getting some free work done on his pad, a bit silly dont ya think?
