Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Crucial NY election!!!VOTE!!!!!!

Hi folks,on November 3rd there's an important election for NY's 23rd district. As many of you already know Obama got John Mccugh to give up his seat for another job. This was only to get John out so he could get a Democrat elected to replace him. Please get out and vote for Doug Hoffman. The RNC supports Scozzafava but she's really just a Republican in name only. She does support gun owners but so does Doug (NRA member/Conservative) and we can trust him to do the right thing on other issues as well. It's going to be tight so be sure you vote and get your friends/family members out to.

Been watching all the political adds on TV about this one. Dirtiest election I can remember. All 3 candidates sound bad.

I'm living and registered to vote in the Watertown/Fort Drum area. Doug Hoffman is the way to go. The other two are liberal as hell.

Hoffman's not bad at all unless you believe the distortion's of the facts the Dems are saying about him.Social Security is going bankrupt and the only solution the Dem's have to save it is to keep taxing the crap out of us.That's not the answer! They also say he's against health care reform like the rest of the Republican's.That's pure crap as well. All Republican's want real HC reform unlike the Dem's who really only want the power that comes with taking over HC and the huge chunk of the economy tied to it.Fact is they want total control of the entire economy and they're well on their way to doing just that.We MUST stop them NOW!!!!

Scozzafava just dropped out.

I just hope she was not getting the most liberal vote.

Yeah that's great news!It looks like we have a really good shot at this one now and the Virginia election looks to be in the bag.I just hope the NJ folks come through and defeat Corzine. With his record I'm amazed it's as close as it is.You'd think they would have learned by now.

Don't celebrate too quick:

"Republican Dede Scozzafava endorsed her former Democratic opponent Sunday in the race for an upstate New York congressional seat, shaking up the contest for the second day in a row after exiting the race Saturday.

Scozzafava dropped out after Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman experienced a late-in-the-game surge. The move was expected to consolidate GOP voters behind Hoffman on Tuesday.

But on Sunday, Scozzafava backed Democrat Bill Owens -- the announcement was made in a statement sent out by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

"I am supporting Bill Owens for Congress and urge you to do the same," she said. "In Bill Owens, I see a sense of duty and integrity that will guide him beyond political partisanship. He will be an independent voice devoted to doing what is right for New York. Bill understands this district and its people, and when he represents us in Congress he will put our interests first."

Just yesterday, as Ms. Scozzafava bowed out of the race.....she said she was doing so for the good of the party. (the Republican party)

Both she and Doug Hoffman are Republicans. Both are somewhat fiscally conservative although Hoffman is more to the right. On social issues, Scozzavava is a hell bent flaming liberal. That has been most of the problem. This is a conservative district. She is pro-choice and has twice voted to allow gay mariage in New York State while serving in the State Assembly.

After stating yesterday that her withdrawal was for the good of the party, she decides to endorse a liberal democrat today.

It should be apparent to all that Ms. Scozzava is just a waffling flake who is undeserving of the distict's support as she fails to stand by her stated convictions. There are already too many like her in Washington.

What's the problem? She differs with you on some issues. OK. She also has been re-elected in her district, too. Newt also endorsed her before she dropped out.

So is there no room in the GOP 'big tent' for folks with some differing views? That sounds like the taliban. Is there some litmus test to keep folks from calling one a RINO?

Right on. She is a RINO, period. I don't care what Newt said--he's way off base on this one, IMO. Also IMO the "big tent" is why the Republicans are in the mess they are in now. You have to stand for something, or you'll fall for anything.

Hmmmmm.....let's see.....maybe sticking with traditionally conservative Republican policies? Not supporting the Democrat candidate? I know, I know--that's like the Taliban.

She has a history of supporting traditionally liberal Dem policies, and is supporting the Dem candidate while claiming to be a Republican, so referring to her as a RINO is likened to the taliban. That's got to be one of the most ignorant and insulting things I've ever seen posted on HNI. Congrats on lowering the bar.
