I was down tow for coffee and breakfast this morning as I do almost every day. It kind of hit me that there is no political support as there used to be. I don't mean at election time, but back when Bush was in office. Now this is a Republican state when it comes to voting for president and Bush remained somewhat in a favorable light as people here are not really anti war anyway.
Toward the end Bush started taking some heat and right after the election there was actually some excitement about bama. MAN IS IT GONE. The talk around here now makes Bush sound like the next Saint. There is a very strong feeling that this administration is just about as wrong as they can be in every area. I mean, what has he done right?
It's called the dumbing down of America. Been going on for some time now.

Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president."
The media fired up the people blaming Bush for everything , and lifted up the great Satan (Obama). I would blame most of the liberal media for the swing, the finally got what they deserve. The bad thing is they got the rest of us involved in their fiasco!
Sorry, Just frustrated as hell. How in the world did we get here.
We got here by news media willfully becoming a propaganda machine for the Obama campaign. We got here by mature adults being so stupid as to believe the lies of the Obama campaign: "O, never mind who I hang out with (William Ayers, Reverand Wright, et al), I'm middle of the road and normal. I'm not a socialist." I mean, c'mon!!! Can you read between the lines? Do you, as an adult, believe everything you are told?
We got here by a bunch of moderates swinging and voting for the most liberal Democratic presidential candidate we have ever seen. These moderates misread, misanalyzed, misinterpreted who and what Obama is.

I have seen the Obama crowed in my circles dwendle. Many have said, "I never imagined this". Or "You were right". I take no solice in either. I just wish some would have researched instead of following the rock star the media thrusted infront of us. And in 2012, there will be a change. Well, that is if another party can come up with a decent alternative.

Unintended consequences and God have one thing in common: Liberals don’t believe in either of them.
We got here because we voters were continually faced with the choice of two evils. Both partys became expotentially more evil until the the difference between them was nearly indistinguishable. This country is very polarized because voters listen only to their party shills and make little effort to determine the real truth.
People are not holding their congressmans feet to the fire. All they care about is that their congressman critter belong to the same party that they do: Republicans on these boards almost never criticize the actions of their Republican congressman when he gets caught up in some crooked scheme: Same is true of the Democrats.
Neither party gives two hoots in hades about the things that matter to voters in this country. There are several lobbyists for every politician in the US congress who bought and paid for your congressman.
We got this way when folks became fed up with the shenanigans of the last Republican congress and the Republican president. We got this way because the Republican party could not put forward a candidate who could win. Besides it is the Democrats turn to run every thing for awhile.
I agree with you Falcon, down to where it is the Dems turn to run things, they are certainly no better in any way than the other side but as a party, they are LESS GUN FRIENDLY. That simply rules them out for me.
