Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama says he will end the "don't ask, don't tell" military policy.
The "don't ask, don't tell" policy allows gays and lesbians to serve in the military as long as they don't disclose their sexual orientation or act on it.
Obama said this country cannot afford to cut from the military's ranks people with needed skills for fighting. He made the comments to thousands of gays and lesbians at a fundraising dinner Saturday night for the Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest gay-rights group.
Since Obama took office in January, some advocates have complained Obama has not followed through on promises to push top gay rights issues.

What are they going to do? Decorate the barracks?

You know, accidents happen all of the time in the military.

I do believe soldiers should be sexed on a regular basis.

How is it setup now with men and women both going to the same basic training? (no females when I went to basic at Benning) I'm assuming they have separate barracks. Are they going to have 3 sets of barracks now? Don't know how I would feel about sharing a foxhole with a guy who might be checking me out.

Men check you out every day. You just don't realize it.

I wouldn't be so sure; I'm not all that appealing to look at.

The noodle gazers have always been there, just that now it will be ok for them to come out of the closet. I don't get it. What was wrong with don't ask don't tell? If you don't want to be treated like a gay don't tell anyone.

Spent a career in the US Army and this stuff makes me sick. Was in a small unit in the early 60s that had two dedicated homos in it, one right after the other: The CO and 1st Sgt. came from the same stateside unit as our resident twinky and they refused to anything in spite of the fact that one of our guys caught the twinkie in a homosexual act.

Nearly all the troops in that part of Korea knew that our EOD unit had a fag or two. Our vehicles had red fenders and wherever we went guys gave us that limp-wristed wave. Finally i got mad and painted all the vehicle fenders to match the rest of the vehicle-olive drab.

Was later stationed at Ft. MacArthur, CA. Ft. Mac was the dumping ground for all those in 6th Army who were awaiting bad conduct discharges for homosexuality. They totally disrupted that post. Finally we got a new Col. who expedited their removal from the US Army.

We do need open homosexuality in the US military.
