I know the whole Nobel Peace Prize thing is just a joke anyway but come on... What the hell has Obama done? Oh... he's given the world "hope for a better future" LMAO. The nomination had to be in by February for goodness sake. He -or we- hadn't even yet paid for his inauguration party at that point.

Jimmy Carter actually did do something for peace to deserve it. He brokered the Egypt-Israel peace treaty which still holds today. Obama did absolutely JACK to even be nominated. I couldn't believe it when I heard it announced this morning on the radio. It's simply got to be the biggest sham I have ever witnessed. The guy serving soup in the soup kitchen deserves this prize more than Obama!

You know what the funny twist is; Obama was nominated before taking the job. How did they know if, or I should say, when he will do something of significants.

Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa, who won the prize in 1984, said Obama's award shows great things are expected from him in coming years.
So, they gave him the award in the hopes that he might do something to earn it.
Quote:
The award appeared to be a slap at Bush from a committee that harshly criticized Obama's predecessor for his largely unilateral military action in the wake of the Sept. 11 terror attacks. The Nobel committee praised Obama's creation of "a new climate in international politics" and said he had returned multilateral diplomacy and institutions like the U.N. to the center of the world stage.
Oh, and they gave him the award because they are happy that he isn't G.W. Bush.
Now, how in the hell is he going to do the right thing for our troops in Afghanistan? How can he do the right thing with the Iranian nuke situation if we must resort to military action?
His nobel prize cronies will accuse him of being a war monger!
It's a damn sick, disgusting joke.
